Actually, that's not true. As others have confirmed, the Apple site did indeed say "Delivers by October 14" during the order process and when it was placed. Once the order was completed, they then changed it to "ships by October 14." So yes, Apple did promise delivery on the 14th and then changed their tune.

Hmm, guess it might have been just for a few seconds because I had my order going as soon as the store came back and it showed "Ships" the whole way...weird

I'm getting worried that the Mount Hope iPhones haven't gotten their Import Scan yet... :S
They were unloaded an hour ago according to TrackThis. But it hasn't shown up on the UPS tracker yet (just "Arrival Scan"). I'm trying to remain positive :)

Edit: To be clear, TrackThis had an Arrival Scan at 6:07 and unload scan at 6:41

I only have an arrival scan - no unload scan. Hopefully the tracking system is a bit laggy.

Getting a bit worried for a delivery today, I would have expected more updates by now, almost 8am.

Mount Hope, ON, Canada 10/14/2011 7:36 Import Scan
Mine doesn't say that yet.

Also, I haven't found any flights from UPS bound to any other airports from Mount Hope. I guess it'll have to travel by truck the rest of the way to Montreal.

I just phoned UPS, asking the likelihood for a delivery today.. they said a probable delivery Monday, since they don't see the package leaving the warehouse at Hamilton. :-(

In their system, the delivery date is for Tuesday. On the tracking information I don't see any delivery date - its been missing since KY.

Why wouldn't a package that just arrived be sorted and sent out on the same day? Doesn't make much sense if you are in the business of sending and receiving time-sensitive materials...

Anyways, at least we know the phones are here in Ontario and we are but a small step away from having them in our hands.

I agree. Past experience, once a shipment gets to Hamilton its delivered that day... but previously by now, I would have seen more updates, if not "Out for Delivery"...

Put yourself on the phone and think about it, if they tell you today and it doesn't come, you'll be pissed at UPS. I don't know why people keep bugging the UPS telephone Agents they know nothing more than what you see on the tracking sheet. Probably they even know less because they aren't located anywhere near the depots and they have zero idea how close that is to you. That's if they are even in the same Province, or even country.

Go to page 9 I posted my Mac Mini shipping details from last month it will give you an idea of the time frames

Yeah I thought it was going to Mirabel, guess not.

Hoping we get it today.

It's a 7-8 hour drive from Mount Hope to Montreal. There's no way it gets to my door today unless it comes by plane and I'm trying, unsuccessfully, to find a plane, any plane, that would still come from Mount Hope to the Montreal area :L

The flight out of Boeing Field (UPS490) should be leaving at around 5:56PST, arriving at YVR for 6:25AM. Plenty of time to sort and deliver to various locations around Richmond and Vancouver :)

EDIT: However, the flight is 29 minutes and they could go faster than expected. So even more time to sort and put on trucks, potentially.

Packages haven't moved in nearly three hours, they're not going out for delivery today. It's well past the the time for loading.

I guess it can travel half way around the world in a couple of hours, but once it gets to Canada, it can't cover a fraction of the distance in the same time period :p

They have plane loads of packages that have to be unloaded sorted then loaded into the proper trucks for the proper distribution centers. It does take a little time, up until now they moved as on big single unit. I suspect they were palletized so before they go to the distribution centers they need to be unpacked too.
