Nobody got just the 24th for any watch combo. For everyone in the first lot we were all 24/04 - 08/05.
It's just Apple covering themselves. I expect nearly everyone who got these dates to get it on the 24th.
So, ordered the 42mm white sport model Friday morning (8:03 ish) as was convinced that's what I wanted... Saturday I had a try on session at Cabot Circus in Bristol and oh boy did that change my mind!
This is the 38mm as they didn't have a white 42mm to try.
Firstly, I was blown away by how lush this thing is
My other half didn't really care for the watch at all until we got there and within minutes she's like "I must have one!" so anyone on the fence go and try it on!
The biggest thing I took away from trying them on though is that the silver sport looks wrong to me, others have said it looks a bit cheap and although I don't agree with that it's by far the worst looking version. The stainless is much better but for me the clear winner with the Space Grey Sport or the Space Black Stainless. The screen just disappears into the case and just looks spot on to me.

If money were no object I'd order the Space Black Stainless, but sadly it is too rich for me at the moment SO I ended up ordering the 42mm Space Grey Sport as well with a "June" delivery but will keep my 42mm White Sport order as I'd still like one on launch
This is by far the most exciting Apple product since the iPhone IMO, can't wait for the 24th

i ordered Space Grey 38mm @ 8.1am and delivery date is 13/5 - 24/5. Can't complain I snoozed my alarm.
Thought I was the only one in this frame of mind! I've seen the packaging unfortunately, but I refuse to see the watch in real life until I'm opening my SG Sport on (hopefully!) 24th April!
Kind of agree with this, having seen it and tried it on it's made the next 2 weeks incredibly long!!
I was going to do this, but having an Apple store just round the corner from work was too tempting - had a try on appointment after work today. Happy to say the watch was even nicer than I thought and I'm really excited - I genuinely think it's going to be a joy to use, day to day.

Got one confirmation for 42mm Space grey sport 08:02:07 with delivery 24-5
Got other confirmation for 38mm Stainless steel black sport band confirmation at 08:12 with delivery 24-5 (Damn Apple store App not allowing gift cards delayed me for this one).
I went to try the watch on in Meadowhall, Sheffield and was shocked at how small the devices are. I found that the link bracelet was not as nice as the Apple store pictures, whereas the classic buckle is now my favourite so shall have to purchase some time in the future. I agree that the aluminium sport (apart from space grey) looked cheap.
The assistant did not really let me touch it and did not like me playing with it. Also spotted a lot of cleaning the watches!
Cannot wait for delivery - constantly checking

Lucky, I didn't get confirmation until 08:17 due to gift card delays, and 4-6 weeks schedule now.
42MM SS in Blue Leather Loop.
I went to a try on appointment in Sheffield yesterday, and I was sold.
Really comfortable to wear with the leather loop, and if i had money to burn, i'd buy the link bracelet too.
It says shipping in June, but I'm hoping it's earlier.

What's the usual timeframe for shipping confirmations to start coming through prior to launch? I managed to order a 42mm space grey sport early on with the 24/4-8/5 dates like many others, so was just wondering when (if 24/4 was to be THE day) these emails could potentially be sent? I'd hazard a guess of around Tuesday/Wednesday next week if we're lucky?

For the iPhone 6 I had my dispatch notice about a week after ordering = a week before receiving.
If we're getting something on 24/04 I would think we should see movement on the status by Thursday, I.e it changing to preparing for shipment and then ship on Friday or Monday...
