Is it just me that's paranoid about pressing the "Cancel Order" button by mistake when checking my delivery status

this joke has been around longer than my watch has been processing, and that takes some doing

:d:d:d

----------

So my dad just rang me and after catching up the end of the call went exactly like this.

side note, having no watch feels like having no arm at this point

I came back on here today hoping today was your day dude. Apple still keep you waiting I see :(

SO our delivery is based on population..
what a joke!!!

That's redic... I was told on the chat that's its based on location too. It wasn't a bank holiday weekend in the US this weekend so they've had an extra day of shipments than us too!

well i received my my watch this morning after speculating wether it would arrive today or tomorrow, and opened it up and it looked so pretty!! but on closer inspection i then noticed that the screen wasn't sitting right in the stainless steel casing and i could also see adhesive residue. So straight onto the phone to apple who to be fair were very helpful and they are replacing it for me. I managed to get the watch dropped off to the UPS drop off location in time for collection this afternoon.I'm really chaffed off now because i have had the taster of wearing the watch, but for the brief hour or so i had it I'm in love. Now I'm back to the waiting game!! Hopefully won't be long until i receive my replacement!!

Why is that a joke? These things have to be planned out fairly clearly, otherwise you'd end up with your watch arriving with a US charger in the box.

Before they had a single customer order, they had to place manufacturing orders for X units of Y SKUs, to be shipped to the various launch countries.

I'm sure they'd be able to tweak the product mix somewhat after the customer orders started coming in, but even then I think it's been pretty clear for some time that they're fulfilling the orders in the order they were received *for each country*.

come on..the production week of the latest apple watch is already later that april 16th..so the mix should have been correct already..
but this is meaning for every 10 watches USA gets UK gets 1.
So when they deliver watch 100 in USA lets say thats a week later then watch 1
we still need to get our order for watch 10 which was placed on the same day as watch 1..
Thats not fair

well I'm an 0806 order and I've still seen no action on my 42" SG SBS

This really is getting silly now.

I think they are expressing themselves incorrectly. It would depend on the order percentages of the two countries. I would like to see the percentages of fulfilled in both countries...

Remember that the SKUs are different due to the charger in box - I'm assuming they are producing more on the U.S. Line of SKUs due to larger volume of orders.

(assuming that they can switch the mix instantly, because they have huge supplies of the different materials/components just sitting around waiting...)

I don't think we know at all what the spread is across the different launch countries, but it seems safe to guess that USA/China are getting proportionately more.

Thats not fair

You could also say that it's not fair that we got to start placing orders at the relatively comfortable time of 8am, while folk in the US east coast had to get up at 0300 if they wanted to pre-order.

I very much doubt that there is any way this could have been done, such that everyone would agree it was fair :)
