Also waiting on TnT
I would've preferred UPS, but either way I'm currently a happy window sill camper =]

i really hope you guys still waiting get an update soon, this has been a hell of a ride.

I have been fiddling with the filters on the spread sheet. Anyone noticed that not one single watch ordered with either a Leather Loop, Link or Modern Buckle has been dispatched yet?

I have no idea how Apple are prioritising, but it does not appear to be very logical.

I have not seen any proof ... and I'm also waiting.
It is not logical to me that band-only orders are shipping before watches.
That's a little unfair ... but ... as others said I should have ordered a $350 plastic watch and be done with it.

I totally agree. It's so weird how they are delivering these. I would've thought a little bit of everything moving all the time.

a common thing in Workflow/Shop management with parallel processing is a "Flow Shop".

In any process, you have 2 states.

- Machine Waiting on Parts
- Parts waiting on machine

When you have something thats as time intensive as the link bracelets, you have a lot of "Parts waiting on machine" type bottlenecks.

Apple hires hundreds if not thousands of industrial engineers to work out these kinks.

My theory all along has been that they started production of the link models FIRST. This allows them to process enough link bracelets to cover all the orders (demand was probably smaller due to higher selling price).

They probably discovered the faulty taptic engines in these units and had to scrap them.

What I wanted as a consumer who ordered the Link version is for them to bump all SS models that were scrapped to fulfil our orders, but I think the engineers figured it would hurt more customers who ordered the less expensive units and decided to post the 4-6 week lead time for the Links out of the gate.

Anyways... take it with a grain of salt. I don't work for apple

Hey All, I won't ask how everyone is as I can kinda guess ;)

jrobert/HarryT

I was just wondering whether it would benefit to add another column to the spreadsheet with a date of dispatch/delivery just so we can see how that compares to the expected delivery date and order date?

Just a thought cheers for the good work :D

I don't think it really matters, its all about order time for me, if someone who ordered the same watch after you has got it then it doesn't matter when they got it because you still don't haha

Yeah that makes sense but the holding back of Loop and Modern Buckle seems weird to me. Illogical. They got other more complicated bands then those (Milanese) out early enough.

I am impatient lol, they haven't broken on deadlines or anything. I'm in the 12/25 window and just want some movement soon :)

I dont think it would make a difference because of location and also some deliveries are delayed in transit etc so you will always get different times.

But from my previous experience. Once its dispatched it comes next day!!! Unless its launch day then the carriers are instructed to hold on to it.

there obviously no doing it in order to the UK as dctid ordered nearly two hours after me according to the spreadsheet. same watch and band as me yet he posted saying he has gone to preparing for dispatch yesterday and I'm still in PROCESSING HELL (by the way the table is not updated for him yet he posted to say his status changed)

starting to hate the mac air I'm typing this on **** APPLE!

Breaks my heart updating the spreadsheet for people who were waiting on modern buckles or link bracelets, Then cancelled ordered a new watch at the start of May and now have them. Meanwhile me and the Mrs are stuck waiting for said bands

Who do you mean?

And make sure its the same size (42 vs 38) because 38's are shipping faster

Mine has arrived. The sport band is a lot nicer than I thought it would be so Im happy

Yup, I was really very surprised by how nice the sport bands feel. I dread to think how many hours/days/weeks were spent getting the blend of whatever materials are in it, just right so it's strong, flexible, soft, etc. in just the right balance.

However, the thing i was most surprised about, is how comfortable it is to wear while typing. I always had to take off my previous watch (a Timex Ironman with a rubbery strap) when working on my computer because the various rubber/clasp/overlap bits under my wrist were spectacularly uncomfortable. The Apple Watch is staying on my wrist all day and I can barely feel it under my wrist :D

This is good to hear. It was one of my concerns with wearing a watch (I don't currently wear one). It's also why I ordered the SG Sport because any metal would scratch against my Macbook Pro.

...and.... delivered!

I picked it up from our reception an hour ago and haven't opened it yet - to be honest I'm just relieved that it is finally here.

Anyone else, that has received theirs, surprised by how heavy the box is?

Anyway, I will add a comment to the spreadsheet.

I *really* hope that the rest of you don't have to wait too much longer - it is painfully frustrating.

One thing is clear is that (in general) the time from credit card charge to delivery can be very fast indeed (less than 24 hours in my case after waiting for almost a month).

I'll will keep checking in on progress... I'm really glad I stumbled onto this forum.

Cheers all (And thank you to HarryT and JRobert may your waits in particular be short).

yep same size 42mm check the comment on page 564 from his username and then the table I'm like 10 orders above him. unless he put an order in for a 38 that i haven't noticed

Yes, I was particularly concerned that the metal pin in the sport strap would either leave dents in my desk when I'm using the Apple Wireless Keyboard, or scratch up the wrist area of my macbook when I'm typing on that.

I suppose it's possible that people with very different wrists to me, would have that issue, but for me the pin is about 1cm off the desk/macbook while typing :)

Both watches delivered! I have added a comment to both orders on the spreadsheet HarryT as I can't seem to edit it.
