Ordered the SS 42mm Milanese at 8:01am, confirmation email by 8:02am and my order is still showing as processing
Will check if I have been charged in the morning, really hope I have.
I feel you. 38mm SG Sport. Confirmation at 8:03. Still nothing. Not a peep.
I have ordered 3 watches (me,the wife and the mother in law).
Anyway, only 2 have appeared on my credit card statement as being authorised. I ordered the SG black and my wife and her mother the white sport strap.
Anyway, i was not looking forward to telling them if only one of the authorisations was a white one.
So spoke to Apple. they said that all 3 should arrive Friday. The third one has not been authorised by the credit card company as was sent out after the time each company posts pending transactions.
I am guessing that is what has happened to a lot of people on here and that it is just waiting for the bank or credit card company to authorise it

From my limited knowledge of delivery procedures, this is how I see it:
Customers will read it one of two ways; their items is on time, or its late.
Therefore Apple will prioritise those who ordered early enough to make the first wave so that they get their watches on time. These are the ones currently preparing for shipment.
The other groups, who won't get it on friday, will already consider it late as of Thursday night, and because of this, "how late" becomes irrelevant to them for a very short window after launch. Late is late. (obviously there does come a point at which Apple are then taking the piss).
Either way, Apple knows this, so they'll put everything into getting the first wave delivered on time, and as soon as that's out the door (which will most likely be tomorrow or thursday) then they'll start preparing the second wave that's projected to deliver next week.
Basically, anyone preparing for dispatch right now are intended to receive it on friday, otherwise they wouldn't be spending resources on preparing it in the first place, and those who won't get it friday but will get it next week, will start preparing for dispatch probably sometime friday.
I have no insider info to confirm any of this, just trying to make logical sense of the situation. Plus, I don't believe Apple have any stock in the UK right out of the gate, Im more inclined to believe they're all coming from china for us brits.

Well i guess couriers would deliver earlier in the day to major towns but apart from logistics no, complete rubbish, they will be sent all over the UK for delivery on Friday.
I've been charged for my SG 42mm but still processing. Can't help myself but check the order every few minutes despite having Deliveries app which promises to notify me of a change!

I have ordered a Space Grey 42mm sports.
Having noticed payment had been taken, but my status hadn't changed from 'processing' I've just queried this with live chat on Apple.
I was told the following:
"Thank you for your patience. I see that your credit card was charged today which indicates you order status will very soon change. We charge your credit card once the product is preparing for shipment so have you fingers crossed your product is getting ready for you."
I also asked about a Friday delivery and given a bog-standard:
"I see the estimated date being between 24/4-85/ but it could very well arrive on the 24th."
I then asked if the lady knew where it was being shipped from and was advised:
"As it stands, I dont have that warehouse shipping information for you as my system does not show that."
So, in a nutshell I am none the wiser aside from being told my order status is set to change rather soon.

No one ever is from speaking to Apple Chat reps. Seems like no one learns from this forum....

You're the 30th person in the last 2 hours to have spoken to an Apple chat rep. They know nothing. They contradict each other. They're a waste of time when it comes to the Watch and that's why people make comments about people relying on information from them on this forum. Sorry if my previous post was dickish

Probably more that their chat logs get monitored further up and so they can't say anything without getting told off
That said, the AppleSupport_UK twitter, while unofficial, seems to be run by anonymous Apple employees and so they can say what they want and be as accurate as they like without reaping any NDA related firing as a result of it. Which explains why they've given us some good data so far, perhaps?
They could be store front monkeys, they know as much about behind the scenes stuff as we do. Hell I knew more stuff than some of the Apple Store staff over the last couple years. Saying they work for Apple is nothing really.

They've only really given the same data as the educated guesses made on this forum. For all we know, it could be run by forum members. Just cos they say they're Apple employees, doesn't mean they are...
A friend of mine works for Apple, he helps set up new stores and with training of staff. He is quite knowledgeable, but in regards to the Watch, he's not heard anything about the pre order process other than the memos, etc. which is why I'm dubious about this Twitter feed.
