It couldn't hurt to call AT&T now and see what's going on. I think that 20 hours is close enough.

Just cancel the order if it is backordered. Might as well wait in line.
FYI, I have 2 upgrades and both have the Various SIM In Progress:
I had my AT&T Company Rep order mine because they did not show on the Premier Store Web Site. I was told that they will show as back ordered but they will ship on the 18th to arrive on the 19th. Of course this is a business account.
For me I did not have to have it on the 19th even though it will be nice to get it on the 19th. However, I would not have waited in line to get one. So if I don't get it until the following week I am ok with that.
Ordered from Premier store yesterday around 2:30 PM. Here is what my current message looks like.

I get an error when i use the regular AT&T site.
I ordered my 32 GB 3Gs through Premier yesterday and am currently receiving the same message as everyone else through the Premier site.
I went to the regular AT&T Order Status, used the Search Method of Home/Work Number and found my order no problem.
Everything is back-ordered for me like a lot of others. Hopefully it is like someone said earlier and they are back-ordered until shipped and I receive it the 19th.

I just called and told them that I couldn't see my order on the AT&T wireless website after putting in my home/work number, and they said that is probably because I am a new customer and those that see it are already current customers.

Have we learned nothing from the first two launches?? The only reliable way to get one on the 19th is to go wait in line at the Apple store. If it's like the first two launches, AT&T stores will only get a small amount of phones in each store, and there will be lots of backorders fulfilled weeks later.

I'm not sure what it means, but like I said earlier, mine looked like that for an hour or so and then was removed from the backorder column.
