ordered mine m3/8gb/256gb stuck on 'label created' for two days -- No status update.

I ended up amending mine to the i7/16GB after realising my wife gets a discount :)

Travel and music storage is what this baby will be used for :)

Space Grey i7/16/512. Replacing my 2010 MacBook Air, so I figured I may as well go all-out as I get my money's worth out of them!:D

Replacing a MBA 2010 here as well :) Last model with the Core 2 Duo. Even the 2015-2016 rMBs were way faster, so with this one along with 16GB RAM... it's gonna be good.

Gentlemen, I also have a 2010 MacBook Air but I think I'll skip this iteration and wait for the next 2018 MacBook or MacBook Pro no touch bar.

I think next version with Coffee Lake, Thunderbolt 3 should give us more bang for our bucks.

Nice!

I was going to wait for this one especially cause of the nice little kaby lake bump and the second gen butterfly keyboard but I sprang for the 2016 model purely based on price in Canada

Got mine from an inventory clear out for 913$ whereas the 2017 model is 1730$ (!!) in Canada.

2017 model will be nicer though! That second gen keyboard !

If you can wait, sure :) But the version after that will be even better!

Mine's really due for an upgrade now, it's just gotten too slow for most of the things I do, so this seems like a good time. And I'd rather buy now and enjoy it for a full year, then to wait and work with an antiquated machine because there might be something better on the horizon.

I cancelled my i5/16/512 and just going to get the i5/8/512 use it till a TB3 version is released on hopefully 10nm which might be next year considering Intel is going to release lowerpower chips on 10nm cannon lake and the desktop chips will be using 14nm coffee lake according to Intel.

When a ThunderBolt 3 version is launched il just max that out! No point maxing out a device now that I will get rid of in a year or two

I ordered after keynote, i7/16/512 in space grey, delivering 16-20 June, shipping to Germany

At first I went with the spacegrey colour but then canceled my order and went for the silver one. It seems that the spacegrey colour might chip off after a while of use (see attachment).

Just curious what you guys want to do that requires so much bandwidth available in Thunderbolt3?

[doublepost=1496928429][/doublepost]I don't know...a computer is meant to be enjoyed and used rather than displayed as art. :/

I really like how the Space Gray MacBook looks on pictures. In person though, I always notice how the gray of the trackpad is slightly different, and don't really like this. I'm also worried about the chipping and possible discoloring, although I've never seen that this is a wide-spread issue and will greatly depend on one's use. In the end I'm worried most about getting tired of the Space Gray look. Having had a silver MBA for 6 years, and many other black/silver gadgets, I know it holds up very well and I still like the classic look. So I went for the silver version of the MacBook as well.

Having a nice screen that also acts as a power supply is nice, so you only need a single cable from the MacBook to the monitor, and only a power cable from the monitor to an outlet. Daisy-chaining other stuff like HDs would be nice as well. Personally I'm not going to use any of that, so I'm not going to miss USB-C at this time. In 2-3 years when the peripherals landscape has moved more towards USB-C that might change, but by then the MB will already have USB-C anyway.

Why not both? :)

But seriously, it's an expensive piece of tech, and wanting to keep it in pristine condition isn't that strange. I also buy Apple products in part for their looks, so when it looks (to me) like crap because of chips and other stuff that shouldn't happen, that'd be a real shame and makes me enjoy the product way less.

I don't really understand this part..the macbook already has USB-C. It's just Thunderbolt2. My question was what makes 3 worth waiting another year for (besides external GPUs)?

It's not Thunderbolt 2. The USB-C port on the Macbook only has support for USB 3.1 (5 Gb/s). It doesn't even come close to Thunderbolt 2 (20 Gb/s). It's even half speed of Thunderbolt 1 (10 Gb/s).

Sorry, I meant TB3.

Oh, I thought it had thunderbolt. I can see how it that would be a major improvement then.

Went with the space gray maxed out. i7/512/16gb with my company discount and picking it up in a non-tax state I’m paying $1832 out the door.

Anyone seen any mention of the back to school promotion? My wife has a college id and if I can take advantage of that I would cancel this order and buy it that way.

I went for the same combo :) Hoping to replace my surface pro with this as my on the road activities.

I ordered the base model in Gold but upgraded to an i5. This will be my first mac in a long while so excited. Was waiting until they bumped up the processors and extremely excited about the keyboard as well.

Was thinking about a Spec See Thru case but concerned about this being a fanless macbook. Anyone have experience with the 2015 or 2016 model and hard shell cases?

Mine says June 15-19 for delivery.

I'm wondering if I can get your opinions here, so I just ordered the i5 1.3/8/512, to try it out for a couple weeks. I see the 16gb option which everyone on the forums seems to be excited about.
Could you give me some scenarios where 16 gb, I would notice that I have it? Like, is it only having 50 tabs open at a time where it comes in handy, or is it running, say, 10 apps at a time smoothly?

Any real experience would be great, thanks!!

If you don't know, then you don't need it. Save the cash!

I just received silver/i5/8/512 model, and I'm very impressed. it seems responsive and I haven't seen a beachball yet. this is going to be a great portable machine for iOS development.

For those of you who have received your new Macbooks, preferably the i5 or above but m3 is also OK, I'm curious if you can test how well Cities Skylines performs on it?

I know it's not a gaming machine but would still like to know. The 2016 Macbook was "playable" but not very good when viewing a few YouTube videos. I'm hoping that with the improved graphics maybe it's at least a little bit more playable.

Order was sent yesterday with an ETA of June 15th, but this morning that was updated to June 13th. Can't wait!
