I am on a phone waiting list with my local Apple store to MAYBE be in the pre-order line. Lol. Thanks Apple.

yeah if i remember you did the cancel ATT order thing since you apple thing went through. i thought about doing that but worried if I did--I'd run into some computer snafu.

I am very sorry about your order dude...given the circumstances, I think Apple will accommodate you with a pre order. A bummer that you tried to cancel and got burned.

I guess ATT/apple figured it out. My apple order just changed to canceled. So only one discounted phone for me. Other line not eligible until feb 11.

My duplicate order was cancelled today after one email saying the purchase couldn't be completed. The official cancelation email came later. The other phone is somewhere between Anchorage and the next depot. Scheduled to deliver on the 23d if Apple's email last night is correct. :)

No. AT&T will charge YOU the difference.

To be fair, I don't think this is proven as fact as of yet. We'll just have to wait and see.

To perform a supplemental charge on the credit card will open AT&T or Apple up to chargeback disputes and given how those work, likely not worth their time/effort. Now AT&T charging you the difference on your phone bill is another matter entirely.

It is not a proven fact --I agree. It could go either way. Just depends.

I agree it's not proven, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it show on your monthly bill.

so is anybody out there still sitting with two phones for the same line? Im still not sure what to do with the other one. I really wanna give one to my wife but the uncertainty of not knowing what will happen is killing me!

I have 2. They will charge u $599. I think!

here is an idea, what if i take my sim out of my new iphone 4 and put it in the unopened iphone 4? Then they will see that both have been activated I could then just give my wife the other one? Just throwing the idea out there since i have no idea what to do.

Was told by AT&T today that once you buy 2 phones, you can do whatever you'd like with them. I got my iPhone at the store for full retail and the new one is coming on Tuesday. I had a problem attaching it to my account at the store so I had to go home and give them the IMEI and ICID numbers and it's working perfectly. I think I am just going to remove the SIM from the online order and sell it since I used my upgrade on that phone that way I can get my money back.

Count me in also

I also received two phones from ATT, now both charges have gone through with the upgrade pricing (199). Does this mean that other phone is mine to do with it as I please? Could I give it to my wife, sell it online, or should I return it? I am confused, and hopefully someone can fill me in.

I talked to an ATT rep and they said once you buy the phones, they are yours to do whatever you like with them. I would get a new SIM card under your wife's number to avoid confusion.

ATT will give you one if they have a store nearby. Just say you want it under your wifes number. A lot of people used to just swap them but the new iPhone has that mini one.

So did anybody get billed the full price (699 for 16GB)? I just got one delivered by att and I'm being charged 199 (no tax) on my CC. I already bought one from apple a week ago (same line) as they had stock and I assumed that the att order will be cancelled automatically. Will I get charged the difference in a couple months if I keep and don't activate the 2nd iphone on my number?

I'm just looking for answers please no haters.
