OS 4 install fail! PLEASE HELP!!!!

so, what are the restrictions on getting a developer account?

can anyone just pay the $300 and sign up? if so, I'm definitely tempted since it's cheaper than buying another phone which is what I'm tepmpted to do since I'm stuck on an unjailbroken 3.1.3. I know I still can't jailbreak 4 but at least it might give me something to play with

anyone know?

alternatively, if there is a developer who wants to help me...and I can **cough**donate to his fund**cough**, please give me a shout
 
you can register as an individual dev and pay the local amount to your country for an account and within 24 hours your up and running as a dev
 
You need to be registered.

I'm afraid that you need to have your device registered by a developer before installing OS 4.0 on your device. I believe each developer can register up to 100 devices. Good luck.

As a software developer writing software for the iPhone, you would be expected to figure out what to do for yourself and/or accept that there may be faults in this beta software that may make your phone unusable. Since apparently you are not a registered developer, what the hell are you doing installing this software? Serves you right.
 
3.1.3 with modem firmware 5.13.03? is this right because i got hold of 4.0 beta tried to update it and was told i had to be a developer to activate it. so then it was a big mission to get back to 3.1.3 and now my modem firmware is 5.13.03 and befor i did all this is it was 5.12.01? is this right and is there anything i can do to jail break it now?

Not if it's a 3GS.
Patience is a virtue, perhaps something you might strive for in the future ?

when you update to 4.0 you installed the 4.0 baseband, when you downgrade you cannot downgrade the baseband only the OS gets downgraded.

so as 4.0 can be hacked as i have read.. does this mean if i use sn0wbreeze or blackr1an can i jailbreak? :s
 
the only jailbreak out for 4.0 is for 3G devices NOT 3Gs devices redsn0w is much more stable than snowbreeze in my opinion.

If u have a 3G then i would say use redsnow 0.9.5 to jailbreak 4.0.... but again u need to have ur udid registered

:'( *cries* i gt a 3gs... god dam lol i brought this phone with 3.1.3 on it! and now i cnt jailbreak... patience... untill 4.0 comes out lol do u know wen it will be released? will it be like 3.0 with the 3gs same time release?
 
more than likely be released with iphone 4

if you cant wait just do what I did and purchase a dev account and you get access to the betas.... I'm doin my bit and reporting bugs to apple so I feel I'm contributing with the beta lol

I have a 3G so I'm not really the right person to ask my friend has a 3GS and hes not really had any issues were as I am. My 3G has been playing up, I got no 3G connection with apps that wanna access the net when I'm not on wifi..... apple are looking into this and had me doing logs an what not.

no wallpaper on homescreen at the min which they know is a bug with the 3G, photo app has had a couple of crashes after syncing pics, some of my images don't show on my lockscreen when I do set a wallpaper and top all that off I have no mms function lol (the camera icon is missing in text app).

do remember though it is a beta and all kinks need to be ironed out

but £69 :eek: its a bit steep... and its only for one year i have done the research :( unless u can help ;)
 
yeh it's £59 for one year but someone is going halves on the cost with me when they get paid end of the month and I was like hmmm 59 for a beta but now that I have it I'm helping to find issue with the OS so I am being more proactive than I would of been with the beta in the sense of finding bugs...... just wish I knew how to make apps lol

I had a look at xcode but I have no idea what I was doing lol
