haha, okay. You have far too much faith in Apple, and have an incredibly simplistic and idyllic view on how they do business.

So apparently you have no faith in Apple so why are you here participating in this thread and belittling someone's views? Are you even an Apple customer? Doubtful. New registrant coupled with this type of post, of course.

The racists are the ones who would be bothered by a 'white' emoji in the first place.

Nobody is trying to get rid of the white emoji, just adding more.

Anyway, I think the racists will support this becuase they have as much use for the new skin tones as anyone. ;)

Hooray I can now have Emojis of Color! And iTunes still doesn't effing recognize my iPod nano. Time to wipe this **** off my drives and install Windows 10.

Well there's something wrong with your devices, have you actually tried to get a professional to look at it.

If you have issues with your Mac recognising your iPod Nano, iTunes on windows deffo won't. It's a pile of turd on there in comparison.

Funny thing, iTunes on Windows recognizes it just fine. This started with Yosemite and there's tons of reports on this issue on Apple Discussions.

I doubt you are an Apple customer. You own zero Apple products. You've never used an Apple product in your life.

Except as everyone has pointed out and you whiners keep overlooking, NO ONE IS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE YELLOW EMOJI. They are talking about the actual human faces, all of which are white except for some dude in a turban.

Humans don't look that different. It's very easy to include everyone, and awesome that Apple is doing it. Think about what kind of person you have to be to complain about that. Seriously.

Your post was 100% incoherent. Try again, pal.

There IS NO white emoji. It's yellow. Dude. Read. It's fun.

Well you stated that the MacBook cannot do it, which is factually incorrect. The user could still be up a creek as they might not have an Ethernet cable either, as most people don't buy them either.

Sorry, I meant to say MacBook Pro, since Apple no longer sells a computer named simply "MacBook". At this point only one model, the holdover non-Retina 13", has an Ethernet port.

And it's true people don't normally buy Ethernet cables -- they don't have to. New cable modems and DSL routers come with them, as do wireless routers. So you see, if someone was at home and suddenly without their wireless for (insert reason here), they likely have an Ethernet cable lying around already. And if they don't or they're away from home they can buy one from a multitude of places cheaply. They're almost common enough to buy at grocery stores now, unlike a much pricer (and harder to find) Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter (oh, and then we still need to go buy that Cat 5 cable too, you say).

Nice scramble for desperation. You're point is reliant on people keeping said cables. Which is doubtful. I know for a fact that a lot of my friends binned them as they didn't feel the need to keep it.

I live in a small rural town in the south of England and there are easily 6 shops that sell the Apple Ethernet adapter. We don't have an Apple Store here either. So they're more common than you claim.

I say make all of them purple! There are no purple people, and so nobody can claim they are left out! This is just stupid PC crap that divides more than unifies people.

Yeah I'm a newbie to these forums, but not a newbie to Apple, pal.

I bet you've never used an Apple product in your life, you troll.

?? Not sure where you get that assessment from, but back to the topic.

What about this Emoji project upsets you?

It seems to me that resources aren't an issue for Apple and they can address several projects at once. IMO

All this talk about "Apple should get their priorities straight, why are they putting so much emphasis on Emoji, the new Apple is losing their focus!" stuff is silly. Apple has cared about smiley faces for years now.

See: iChat AV for Leopard promo image, including smiley faces (Emoji, for the younger viewers).

All notes aside, I don't like using Emoji, and probably never will. My friends don't get it, but I say the same to them. Oh well. ":p" faces all the way, man.

Isn't that tiger?

Yosemite is a garbage OS anyways, as far as priorities go. It is literally the Windows 8 of Apple's OS.

Apple peaked with Snow Leopard, in my opinion, and have been riding off of that ever since.

As much as I want OSX to be awesome, I feel like it won't happen until someone else blows them out of the water. Unfortunately, I don't think Windows 10 will be any competition...I feel like we're in the age of mediocrity in desktop OS's.

I see none of the "non-racists" answered my simple question. What's wrong, no real comments to make? Just accusations randomly applied to strangers for no reason?

Thank you for saying this because every single bit of the nonsense you wrote is just that, Your Opinion.

Finder lag, and Mission Control lag mostly. Happens after a few hours, only solution is a reboot. Apart from that, it's a solid OS.

By all means buy a retina, just make sure you use Mavericks as it has none of these issues.

I have a 2007 MBP with HD display, maxed out at 4GB RAM.
I don't have those lags you mention.

My main issue is running out of RAM.

Try Resetting the PRAM and SMC. Also Repair Disk and then Disk Permissions.
Remove external drives, and then test for improvement.

Then add your external drives one by one to see if any of these is causing the Finder lag. If yes, check for a firmware update for your hard drive, specially if it's a Seagate.

If you still have the Finder lag, restart without any extensions to try to identify the extension causing the lag.

Last option, not a favorite, is to install OS X from scratch.

I'm using Yosemite, and I think I'll stay with it. In my case it's too late to look back.

You're right, it's not Leopard, I was just looking at the file name originally. :p It actually looks like Jaguar, now that I look at it. Possibly Tiger or Panther though, but based on the System Preferences icon I'm leaning toward Jaguar.

Yep. Only thing they're working on.

The saddest part is that apple's user base has grown so amateurish and infantile that they peddle emojis to them as a valuable aspect of a new OS.
Maybe someone else can come up with an OS designed to run apple computers instead of apple toys because apple has totally lost the plot.
