the current UI is classy, non-cool, non-trendy, only subtly changed since 10.5, non-flat and a pleasure to look at and to use.
Im so over the "Flat" craze..
They are probably never going to have OS 11. Why? Because OS X is a brand now.
Why go to 11 just for hell of it? The version number is irrelevant.
Also, as already stated multiple times, software versioning doesn't work mathematically. 10.10 is not the same is 10.1.
Isn't this windows 7? oh wait no, the x is on the left side.
This isn't as ugly as iOS7 but still pretty damn ugly.
People need to get over their hate of skumorphism, you can't just replace elements with nothing in the name of knowing tech.
Looks like Windows 7. Don't look like Windows 7, please.
After my heart rate settled down, it started to grow on me, already. Change is a bitch, but bitches can be good, too.
FLAT DESIGN NEEDS TO DIE A HORRIBLE DEATH!!!
Hurts my eyes! Too much color, wayyy too bright, the icons are wayyy too thin and easily lost!
Steve and Scott were right with skeuomorphism (minus the leather windows, Game Center and ical)
I hope Jony snaps out of the whole flat & bright fad.

In iOS 7, Apple redesigned the user interface from top to bottom, removing most "skeuomorphic" elements and giving the OS a cleaner and lighter look and feel. Back in January, it was reported that OS X 10.10 -- code named Syrah -- would also see a flatter redesign, but that it would not see as extensive a reworking as iOS did.
Designer Danny Giebe has posted a series of concept images on Dribbble, showing what an iOS 7-inspired redesign of OS X could look like:
It is not known what Apple will call the next version of its OS X operating system, but may show off the new OS -- and its new California-inspired name -- at WWDC in June of this year. Over the past several years, Apple has tended to release its new Mac operating system in mid-Fall.

How can it be called 10.10???? 10.10 is the same number as 10.1!!!!
It has to be OS11 already!!
OS 9 was never a brand, it was a version number. OS X, originally, was likely meant to be the same. However they stuck with it for over 10 years and show no intention of dropping it. Maybe because it looks cool, maybe because they don't want to drop the relation to Unix or NeXt. Who knows? But Apple's treatment of OS X is on an entirely different level as before. OS 9 was Mac OS 9. Generic. Apple has dropped the Mac part altogether and simply called the operating system OS X. It's a brand, and one that is severable from Mac, where Mac OS 9 was glued to it.So was Mac OS 9. If/when they go to OS 11, they'll just apply their Apple marketing "magic" and it'll do great.
Strip down the images. Humans do not recognize images very well. They are confusing. Especially I don't want to look a the faces of my email contacts.
Can everybody at least agree that the skeumorphic designs gotta go?
