To all those hoping that the 10.5.2 update will fix the 'first keystroke not always registered' bug on certain MBP's should not get their hopes to high. Seems that the issue is more related to a certain Shanghai batch of the MBP with serial numbers starting with W8. So guess that would suggest an hardware issue?

A petition created personally by Peter Gabriel about a Mac problem? Wow, that strikes me as kind of bizarre. Obviously he's heavily into computer driven music, but it seems like with his fame and oodles of cash he should be able to avoid the fray with corporations that us mere mortals have to engage in. I'm not even affected by this hardware bug, but hey, I'm not gonna complain if a very prominent famous computer music maker is gonna stand up for us and fight for what's right!

Go Peter!

EDIT:
Haha, whoops I spoke too soon. That petition is indeed spearheaded by Peter Gabriel, but it turns out he's not THE Peter Gabriel, just A Peter Gabriel. Oh well, still, go on him.

Er, you don't actually believe it is _that_ Peter Gabriel, now, do you? I am quite certain he isn't doodling with graphical design and what have –*and in danish, even:

Damn I noticed that mine didnt register the first key from time to time. But i always thought that i was like in sleep mode at the time and needed the first key press to wake up.

DAMMIT NOW I WANT THIS FIXED! jk I dont really care. But a fix would be nice.

ironically the problem i need it to fix will prevent me from downloading the update!

I have airport problems where i can barely connect to the internet for more than 30 seconds at a time without it dropping? How the hell am i going to download a 100mb update if i can't even download a 100kb HTML file!!

Damn, that is painfully ironic.

I'm sorry to hear that, man. Could you not plug it into your modem/router directly?

I think that'll have to be the answer. I think i've got a 30' cable somewhere (or i can borrow one) and plug it into my mac pro for a bit.

I wonder if apple appreciate the irony?

Only if for whatever reason directly connecting it doesn't work. Then I'd say yes, they would.

:p

i just wish they would hurry up - why can't they just take out the stuff they're having trouble with and work on them for 10.5.3? This has been a long delay for such a much needed update - bits of leopard have, to be blunt, been crap. Leopard still feels a bit like a 'beta' in my opinion - to not even get airport working properly for a lot of users is inexcusable - i hope the release notes include a long apology from SJ over the delay

Maybe, but tomorrow has higher chance!

If not tomorrow then the day after will have a higher chance, if not the day after that, then the day after the day after that will have a higher chance still. If not the day after the day after tomorrow will more higher chance, if not then the day after, the day after, the day after, tomorrow (friday I think) could have the best chance of all! You catch my drift?

SC ;)
