It's pretty sad, and this just makes no sense to me, but apparently Apple will delay 10.5.2 untill 26th of February as this is the date the rumoured special event will take place...

I hope it's not true, but I'm affraid it is :(

If anything Apple will release Mac OS 10.5.2 ahead of the special event because if a new Mac or something else comes out, it would require Mac OS 10.5.2.

I seriously doubt someone named hackintosh4life is a noob that doesn't know what they are doing. They probably pulled the update off the torrents.

On another note, Screw you Apple! I'm getting Lightroom. My biggest regret is waiting so long for D300 support. I've had the camera for over 2 months and I cannot use it in Aperture. I'm tired of waiting. If this update has taught me anything, it that you should go with what works, instead of waiting on Apple. If I owned any other professional apps, I would ditch them too. Apple seems to be dropping their pro applications, and replacing them with consumer goods. Those waiting on new ACD, I wouldn't, they next display Apple comes out with will be a TV, not a professional display. Mark my words.

hahaha. as long as the problems get fixed in a timely manor. today, mac os x crashed completely. i can't take this anymore. i NEED the update. it's getting ridiculous. i should have waited to upgrade to Leopard.

Nor can I-which is why ive been back on Tiger after 2 days of total nonsense with Leopard

C31 is out.

I would think apple would release 10.5.2 now, so they could get some patches done quick for any demos at the Feb 26 event

I have no idea how the name "hackintosh4life" gave you the impression that he knew what he was talking about.

This is getting really annoying! I thought it would be released today. :( :( :(
Is it not their strategy to make their customers happy? At least they claim it is.

waiting for seeds..may be the right thing to do

..since some of the "newer hardware" out there is scaring the jeepers out of
the development community:

http://www.i4u.com/article11624.html

The SpursEngine is the latest "progeny" from the Cell Processor development
community, about which "Sony is already rumored to wanting to exit".

After waiting breathlessly for the "Power.org" community to get its act
together, some "pundits in the embedded community" are ready to throw
in the towel:

1. Money is tight..and DOD is over budget, under funded..and up to its
electronic eyeballs in technology they know they will never use..or fully
properly utilize.

2. Motorola , is such a lame duck Microsoft would rather have Yahoo
..(gee )owning a "semiconductor company" must be bad karma now.

3. IBM is manning the barracades, hoping if the US Markets start to sink
(like the server markets did to Sun, during the Internet Bubble POP!!!)
They can bank on their European connections, anyone notice that
NYC is now taking Euros?

4. Some of these "processor/co-processor/platform systems motherboard
mainsystem, whatever you wanna call it" don't work unless/until you
make the consumer version work, then let the dribblin's work down into
"other markets".

The POWER platform will live on...BUT

Steven P. Jobs is beginning to look prescient in choosing Intel here, they
have "optical chips" and network switcher systems in there lab systems.

Working with that new MS Buddy "Mr Stevie Balmeroo" Mr. Jobs
could actually MAKE Sun, or anyone else listen to consumer demands.

Remember we are no longer in the Wintel alliance..more like the GatesClikers...of NeoTech.

ZFS builds..and "hurry up and get Win7 down the road.."..with CoLinux and
company..make Leopard's spot look like the sweet one..for the hardware
fanatics. The Cell CAN ALREADY BE RUN on the Mac Platform...so can the
avispa chip..various other "server chips and sets"..whether Moto or your
old gramma want them or not.

We may finally get the "gamer version" of reality here...the "financial trader
systems..are poopin' out.." and with Intel putting 8 cores on a single system..
make me wonder if they could put an "optical interface..or complete optical
computer" in Slot7.

Someone email Andy Grove..and wake me up...tell us we aren't dreamin' too
loud here..

i guess i am not geeky enough...but i have no idea what this has to do with 10.5.2 that we are all waiting so desperately on. i wish people would quit chiming in about stuff wayyyyy off topic! i am bummed beyond reason that there is no update today. 10.5.1 in my humble opinion is all kinds of crap!

Reported screenshot of List View in 10.5.2 Stacks

Guys heres the screeny

PS: thanks for the tip I always thought it was cmd + shift + 4;)

:apple: you rock like always:apple:

EDIT : LOL! forgot to include the link! :p

The screenshot by hackintosh4life that supposedly shows List View in Stacks in Leopard 10.5.2 is just showing the program Quay, which provides hierarchical views in Leopard's Dock. See http://www.brockerhoff.net/quay. Another excellent program to provide hierarchical views in the Dock is HierarchicalDock, found at http://www.eternalstorms.at/utilities/hierdock/index.html

Does Apple release updates on Saturday?
Maybe they are going to release 10.5.2 today cause in Saturdays and Sundays are a bit lower internet users activity.. The update is pretty large and on workingdays maybe it can cause some tech problems ?
