10.5.7 is proving to be quite the big Apple secret. Can't believe there are no sites out there with any information at all about what is going on. Will we see Safari 4 inside 10.5.7? Is 10.5.7 still being seeded? No one has any information?

Umm, what secrets. We know all the secrets, look at the first link in the first post, it contain the list of all the changes in 10.5.7. World of Apple has been getting the seed notes over the past several months.

The only secrets are when will it be released and will it contain the final build of Safari 4.

Well, that's what I meant... no new news on its release date. Why the silence all of a sudden? Strange, no?

Indeed that OS did go to eleven.

Are we still waiting on seven here? I'm really starting to consider doing a fresh install with it as my Leopard is having some behavioural issues and I'm spending most of my time in Vista - I guess it's just lucky that I like Vista so much. Makes the wait easier.

We know the "secrets" of the builds we've seen thus far. How does that stop a new build of the final 10.5.7 from not having new "secrets"/changes?

I didn't notice any silence all of the sudden, this happens every time there is a new seed. Once sites report a new seed has appeared from Apple, we see 2-3 days of activity (meaning multiple sites guess which release date will appear based on the "remaining bugs" status) and afterward just pure silence. This is normal activity and has happened almost always.

The release date is unknown because this is appearing to be the one of the longest minor system update from Apple, and sites basically just gave up on guessing when it'll be released due to the fact they been guessing it was going to be released back in late Feb, then march, then april and now we are in May.

Look at post I quoted, "10.5.7 is proving to be quite the big Apple secret". I don't remember 10.5.x updates ever having a major big secret.

Agreed, I didn't mean to say we won't see any new changes, what I mean is that we do know all the secrets about 10.5.7 up to now.

Release dates are always unknown. People make predictions of release dates based on Apple's historical behavior and those predictions are usually relatively accurate. On this update Apple hasn't followed their normal behavior. For example all issues except the Safari 4 beta were resolved a month and a half ago, leading to expectations of a quick release.

Nobody has given up guessing, just today for example:

Or this one from yesterday:

LMAO @ gizmodo. Even they think it's a joke to even brother posting it.

Seriously, they all look like a rehash from the previous seed.

"According to trusted sources, 10.5.7 will be released in near future". This will be posted as news every two days on alternating sites. I believe every site in the Mac world has some kind of a pact agreeing that each site will alternate on each day posting the same thing, whoever gets it right wins something.

According to some "super-secret Apple source"—who hopefully is not the Infinite Loop campus' building #5 janitor's brother in law who has a son working at the Minneapolis' Apple Store

They couldn't have said it any better. I really hope it comes out soon.
