god I hope so. I'm dying for a clean install of OSX (too much junk) and theres no point in doing a clean install of SL if Lion is coming this week.

You make it sound like it's worth staying up late for. I wouldn't be in too much of a hurry to install it if I were you.

Comes out Wednesday morning 12EST. No proof to supply but it's guaranteed!!!

Wednesday morning 12 eastern as in Tuesday Midnight when Tuesday turns into Wednesday or Wednesday midnight when Wednesday turns into thursday?

Wednesday morning 12 eastern as in Tuesday Midnight when Tuesday turns into Wednesday or Wednesday NIGHT when Wednesday turns into thursday?
I'm thinking the first of those two. Also, given that Apple's on Pacific Time it'll happen at midnight in THAT time zone.

I don't get it... you have no proof but you're guaranteeing that Wednesday is the release date? I'm as excited as the next guy, but this seems a little dumb.

I assume this means 12pm EST... For all of my UK buddies this means 5pm GMT (I think)...

Seems in line with Apple's software releases time-wise.

See if this comes to fruition. :p

EDIT:
To OP, I assume you have some insider knowledge, if you're okay with stating it here in the forum without citing a source; why don't you anonymously submit it to MacRumors...

I dont know with the rumors of the overnight at the apple stores wednesday night i think its more likely to come out on thursday or on friday(the last 4 have been released on a friday) although Im waiting for the new air so I hope your right, the sooner the better

Any reason why you think its that day and time?

SOMEONE is going to be right about the release date, now that every possible day has been said to be "the release date". I say Tuesday, you say Wednesday, one of us will be right!

I was thinking Thursday the 14th too like the rumors said but of course the sooner the better!!

So interesting if lion is in the Mac app store , it's like the release is just around the corner. It could be on Tuesday too, who knows..

I did submit to MacRumors, no word on if they're using it or not.

I hope it comes out Wednesday so we can stop seeing all these threads about when it's coming out...

Note to all early adopters: Please download it immediately and begin the plethora of bug reports so that I may download 10.7.1

Thanks!

It had better be soon. I'm waiting to order my first Mac godammit.

It's going to be the 14th. You can bank on that.

The Apple stores have been scheduled for an overnighter on the 13th (the night of the 13th, into the morning of the 14th). They won't be having this overnighter for no reason whatsoever.

I will pose you this reasoning: Why release Lion & whatever else before the overnighter? What will the overnighter then accomplish? A post-release prep?

So my point is exactly this: The release (at least for in the physical stores) will be for the 14th whenever the Apple stores open on the 14th.

Doesn't help me any - I got this notice regarding the bar exam on July 26/27. I guess on the plus side, I'll get to see any issues before installing.

As you may have heard, Apple announced that they will be releasing a new operating system, called Mac OSX Lion, sometime in July. The specific date still has not been revealed. Given that this release will be happening just shortly before, during, or perhaps even after, the bar exam, we will NOT be supporting Mac OS X Lion for this exam. As noted in our minimum system requirements, the Mac operating systems we support are the currently prevalent ones, MAC OS X 10.5.8 or 10.6 (Leopard or Snow Leopard). It is very important that if you intend to use your laptop for this exam, do not install Lion on your laptop or attempt to use a laptop that has come preinstalled with it. SofTest will NOT run under Mac OS X Lion and you will have to handwrite all of your exam sessions.

Eh, if it comes out at midnight, you can at least start the download and then go to sleep.
