How do you know Lion won't come out tomorrow on the MAS and the overnight is for new MBAs/MPs...
Just sayin'.

... Because they don't need an overnighter to stock Macbook Airs...

Lion is a download-based thing, however they're going to have tons of people coming in to buy new computers with Lion on them. They're going to have tons of people coming in to upgrade to Lion. They're going to have people coming in just because it's a major release.

They're going to want to get their stores ready for the release, and they're going to want their staff ready with all the answers when it comes to Lion when any customer walks in the day of the release.

i agree, i dont know what that guy is talking about lol :p

Folks -
this GM is the 10.7.0 release; as such it is what every other 10.x.0 release has looked like at its debut; (not finished, with bugs and known issues)

Snow Leopard was like this, as was Leopard and Tiger before it;
As I & others have echoed here before, 10.7.1 will be out shortly and will address every known issue that Apple is tracking at this point. More stuff will come up over time. But to say it is not ready is a bit silly; software never comes "out of the womb" perfect. Don't expect perfection, software development and QA for a product like this is REALLY HARD!

It's Wednesday and i see no Lion. Oh well next week hopefully.

How obnoxious can you get with your assumptions?:

1. If it hits 12 at night for one place in the world, that doesn't mean it's 12 at night for everyone.

2. If Apple doesn't release Lion at 12 just as it turns over to Wednesday, do you really think that means they won't release it at say... 9 in the morning? or 10?

3. Some people are just really dull in the head. They hear "there's an overnighter on Wednesday", and they can't do the simple math. They go "THE RELEASE IS WEDNESDAY!!!!" <-- but guess what? If there's an overnighter on Wednesday, that means the overnighter starts after they're closed. Hence, the product is released after the overnighter, not before!. 2 and 2 does not make 3...

my bad. misunderstood what you were saying. I think Apple would release Lion tonight at midnight (ET or maybe PT)

Its more likely that it would be noon, but we can hope that its midnight and then be disappointed when its not. haha

Actually the app store is down for me. Quite annoying when you are looking for an app. But could it be? Probably not, but here is hoping.

Edit: Never mind, no Lion. At least I can download my app now ;-)
