The real question is: WILL YOUR PRINTER WORK ANYMORE AT ALL AFTER THIS UPDATE/UPGRADE...? If it won't and Samsung, Epson have NOT or will not created drivers...forget printing anything.

Printing? I last did that a little over 2 years ago. I trying to remove as much paper from my life as I can, but while I've replaced mail with email, and I read books and magazines on my iPhone and iPad, they're not ideal for wiping my behind.

Yes, they said it would be free for SL users as well.

Does it auto upgrade once you start downloading or is it a file/app you have to open for the upgrade to start? I want to let this download while I'm in class, but I don't want it to upgrade without me taking backups and such first.

You're not stuck. Just download the release version from the App Store.

Would be great an update... a Re-install is risky in OSX. In the past re-install always left the system unstable or with buggy behaviour...

Yeah it started out slow but I'm now at almost 2GB downloaded. Shouldn't take much longer.

Correct. The md5 is the same for the InstallESD.dmg for both the second GM and the release today, meaning they're the same.

This is crazy good! You can make a jump from Snow all the way to Mavericks. There has to be a gotcha. Free isn't always bad. It works over on the Linux side. But I'm not about to toast my MBP, just yet. Where did i put the mini? It's a good move on Apple's part. If you just bought a Mac you're getting latest and greatest. Have a mac, you can get it. It's early christmas. Who says Mr Timmy can't come with a good CEO decision?

Reinstall will be fine. Tested this weekend without issues.
