And if you don't have wife/girlfriend to annoy, you're already running developer version, so you can skip all of this. Except coffee, of course.

could be a silly question given the current economic climate but do none of you have jobs? lol

For me at nearly 9.30 pm on the 25th time is not important just getting it started downloading before some sleep would be great.

Would have been nice to release it today for us here in Australia

:p

Of course we do, how else could we afford so much time on this forum? I'm actually working right now. I was supposed to do something, but can't really remember what it was. Something about uploading some image of some upgrade to some server somewhere, but I guess I can do that later.

Install an SSD and up your memory to 4 GB

I'm still on a late 2009 regular MacBook, would there be any noticeable decrease in performance upgrading to Mountain Lion? I skipped Lion due to a few changes I didn't like the sound of, but now I'm tempted.

Did it with my Mid-2009 MacBook and Lion runs ultra-fast, I am almost certain I will be fine with the upgrade. If you haven't upgraded you probably should regardless of your OS as even Snow Leopard or Lion really benefit from the boost. Make sure to use MacTracker or the Apple Support pages to find out the correct type of memory. As for the SSD I'd recommend the Vector V4. It works like a charm on my laptop and you can order it from Micro Center for around $100. Install of memory and SSD are easy even for beginners as long as you follow the instructions and can use basic computer tools.

idd, i'm supposed to arrange alot of shipments, but this forum is way more exiting on this release day!

Can I go straight to 6?

I'm out here in South Korea. 8:30PM on the 25th. Just waiting anxiously for the download to be open. I guess I'm lucky to be living in the country with the fastest internet speed in the world.

This is the one time I wish I had my 09 MBP with me, cause my rMBP doesn't have an ethernet port. Oh well, WiFi is good enough I guess.

How many GB is ML? Im at work and thinking of downloading it using my iPhone as a access point. :)

its here its here its here!
lol. just kidding.

Everybody who wanted to have ML knew how to get it and already has it running on their machines - the Golden Master is the same version that you will be able to download from the App Store today. There's no excitement here.

For most of us, this is just the day when will push the buy now button and pay for the software that we already use.
