you'll be pleased, very pleased! ;)

Nice. Because Snow Leopard was an incredible release for me. It ran everything Leopard did, but better. If this is as the other poster has wished, I couldn't be more happy to upgrade day 1.

you're going to torrent a $20 OS... nice!!!!

Seems bad but isn't. Afaik you gotta register your copy during installation to your iTunes account anyways. The torrent would only help being a relief for the Apple servers since some people might get the OS through torrent. That should not interfere with your end user license.

Or am I wrong?

I am pretty stoked for this release. Wish they would update their Up-To-Date site so I can apply for my upgrade.

And here's to hoping for a new codename for the next update. No more cats, please. I think the cats are all played out now.

i'll get it when it's 69p or never. meh nothing i want from the new update. i will wait next year when mountain snow lion lion snow comes out (I__I )~

I'm torn… it should improve some of what I hate in Lion, so that's good, but it's likely the end of all but the most-critical updates for Snow Leopard, which I'm not so happy about.

Yea, the PowerPC-based Mac mini I bought my grandparents years ago is still running Leopard. Apple stopped updating Leopard long ago, which is worrisome in terms of security. But the damn thing just keeps trucking.

Just in time for my out of town trip. Oh well, I will download Saturday when the servers are not overloaded!

Bah.... Enjoy your trip... I'm away with my two kids and we'll be "mom-free" for a few days... Beats any new OS in my books...

In two weeks, you'll wonder why you were eager after things have settled and you take it for granted (again)...

I hope someone else can confirm / deny this.

In my experience, you have always been able to dismiss the registration request in an OSX install. Sometimes you have to hit command+Q to skip it.

I can't update to Lion/Mountain Lion because Apple dropped Rosetta for unknown reasons. Can anyone suggest a valid replacement for ImageReady CS2?

I tried Photoshop CS5 but the "Web Export" interface is a joke, like it's been added as an afterthought, IMHO it's counter-productive.

6 pages so sorry if its been spoke about already, but I'd love to see an iWork update tomorrow. When the 'latest' version was released we had never heard of a retina display, the iPad was non-existent to the consumer and iOS never had home screen wallpapers! I think its about time for an upgrade.

What is "OS X"? Is that a new iPad Mini? I don't understand. Mac's? Computers? What are those?

/sarcasm :p

How to Make a USB Install Disk

Any idea on when the redemption codes will work?

Edit -- And has it been proven that you can make USB install disks for Mountain Lion as well? Would be very helpful to get a few test iMacs up and running with it tomorrow!
How do I make an install disk? I'd like to slide this onto my laptop too. :)
