I just looked at last year's thread for the Lion release announcement. It looks like people were actually able to start downloading from the Mac App Store around 5:35, PDT (Cupertino time).
Is that AM or PM?

Is this the first time they announced something like this during an earnings call?
I created a Lion USB and did a clean install via my USB. (Download Lion, go into disk utilities, tinker around, etc).
Will it be the same with Mountain Lion? Can I download, create a Mountain Lion USB... and then do a clean install via that USB?
I'd like to do a 100% clean install on my SSD, etc.
Well it's already midnight here, and no sign of it, so I guess it's not a midnight release.
How do I make an install disk? I'd like to slide this onto my laptop too.![]()

anyone know if you can go back to Lion via Internet recovery or are you totally stuck with ML if your apps don't work?
It's only 3pm in Cupertino. My guess is that it will launch sometime tomorrow morning in California.
Yeah right, as if 10.8.1 is coming one or two weeks after 10.8.0...
Must stay glued to the MAS to download the SECOND IT'S OUT. Because obviously, I miss out on features if I don't just wait an hour![]()
When I was a widdle boy folks said, 'Swell!'
When I got bigger folks said, 'Cool!'
When I was a fully grown guy the younger folks said, 'Groovy!'
Now the hip crowd says, 'Sweet!'
Wonder what the next 'in' expression will be? There will be one..there's always one.
Just wondering, should I back my laptop up or will I not need to worry about it?
You should ALWAYS back up your system before any major change. Of course ideally you'd be backing it up regularly regardless.Just wondering, should I back my laptop up or will I not need to worry about it?
