I did participate in the original Yosemite public beta but clean installed the actual release version of Yosemite instead of sticking with the beta version. What do I do in that case? Can I install the 10.10.3 beta on top of the official release version?

Does anybody know if the photos app has been updated since the Dev version? I tried it before with my 400GB Aperture library and it got stuck half way through, I had to repair Aperture, then it managed to work with photos but was so laggy... And everytime I moved it crashed Photos. It also screwed up my Aperture library lol... Thankfully, I made a backup!

Prepare for a long conversion to update the iphoto library to the new photos library... And even longer to upload your pictures to icloud... But after its all set up... Works flawless for me

It had been updated last week in the last dev edition. Seems a bit better. Not sure if any difference with the slightly newer public build.

Does anyone know if anything has actually changed in this pub build from last weeks dev build?

Yes, you can install over the official release. Sign into your beta account here. You should then be prompted to install a beta pkg, that give you the ability to download the public betas as if you never left the program.

The risk of it messing things up beyond reasonably easy repair is low, but not zero. All depends on how bad you want to be first.

Too late. I installed it and now I get no graphics display. I was using Nvidias web drivers, perhaps that was the problem. I reset the PRAM and tried to boot in safe mode but not working. I'm currently using my other Mac Pro for now.

Still have wifi issues. The photos preparing library has been stuck on 2% for about 30 mins now.......

Should I have received an email? Is there a link?

Edit: I guess I missed this:

Edit2: I realized I removed the Feedback Assistant app from my mac when I was having second thoughts about Yosemite Beta. After downloading it again, now I am seeing the available update through Mac App Store. I feel like such a newb.

For anyone else that is hitting a wall like me: https://appleseed.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/welcome, sign in, follow instructions to download and install Feedback Assistant, launch Mac App Store and check for updates.

Thank you so much for this info. I opted out of beta updates but I really want the Photos app. :)

Overall the update is safe, the photos app is a bit sketchy though. I set up a test library to see how well the photos would transfer over and it takes a very long time. Mine only took about 10 minutes but that was only for a few photos. Larger libraries are probably going to take much longer. Other than that once it updates everything the photos app is pretty nice to use.

Does anyone know if this resolves the issue where transparency turns off with each reboot?

Wow! That's frightening! Anyone else having this problem I wonder?

Guys, can this be installed over last week's dev preview? My Finder icon in the dock doesn't open the Finder unless I right click and select New Finder Window, and it's pretty annoying.

Probably better to wait for another Dev build. I assume this build is 99.999% the same as the dev build with a similar ver #.

There is a part of me that really, really wants to participate in these public betas... but I only have the one Mac and I know it's probably not the best idea to install on my primary computer :-/ I guess I'll just wait with the rest of the regular people

Just do a solid time machine backup. Things screw up, restore from backup.

Could anybody please check if geotagging has made its way into Photos app? Not viewing map and already geotagged photos, but actually adding/changing location data.

I can see the geottagging, but I don't see a way to change it. Maybe that's a feature for a future version...

I'm seeing a weird issue. On only my latest imported photos, on my iPad, each photo is duplicated in the Moment view. If I back out to the Collections view, they are NOT duplicated. It's weird. I've deleted the images and re-imported them. They are in Photos only once, but the issue is still there... Any help?

so far so good here. am exploring Photos (and it's icloud options). easy for me, my entire photo library is under 2gigs! gonna take a bit to adapt to it, but looks good. wish i had more control (or any control?) over what albums etc sync to the cloud...

also, the dreaded Mail app typing lag seems to be gone.

we'll see how things go over the next few days...

So how does the new photos app work with 2 libraries, an iPhoto one and an aperture one? Can I keep them separate in photos or do they have to be combined?
