Trying to download the software and its telling me I already have the proper version installed, I'm on GM3. Is GM3 the version that was released? Should i even bother upgrading to the app store version?

I have to admit, I was really impressed by Windows 9. No bugs at all!!
Absolutely loving it, this is really going to be a great OS, I'd like to update Windows 8 on Bootcamp, but I'm a bit worried something might go wrong.

Ok, done. Started at 2:30pm, and it's all installed and up and running. Downloaded new versions of iWork and iTunes. So far no problems or glitches. iCloud settings says that it's still "setting up" iCloud Drive... been about 10 minutes of that... hopefully nothing to worry about. I do have 2,000+ files on iCloud, so perhaps its just processing all of that.

Anyone else?

edit: Oh yeah: This was on a 2013 Air (13"). Cable internet @ 50mbps. About 40-45mins to download; in California (Monterey bay-area). Build 389.

Download is crawling. Estimated finish time is 1 day 4 hours. 150Mb/s connection.
Mine is the same way....it started right when everyone else's did and it's CREEPING. I'm on a late 2013 rMBP connected to the latest Apple Airport Extreme over wireless AC.

It NEVER takes this long to download things...not even remotely close.

Apple didn't fix the memory leak I'm having in Mail - and I was so hoping to be able to go back to using Mail, especially now with the new features. Alas, I'm stuck using unibox until they figure out what's causing the leak. I know I'm not alone, as my bug report was closed because someone else with the same problem preceded my report.

For those who upgraded, how long did it take to actually install? I've been staring at a white screen with a spinning wheel for about 10 minutes now. Should I be worried?

Hmmm I really like my current 3D-ish spring board, no sure if I want to go all flat on the macbook yet. Besides the handoff although cool is not something I'll use especially in my use case.

Up and running with Yosemite on my retina MacBook Pro. Download and installation went fast. Once I got into Yosemite for the first time the update for iTunes seemed to take forever.

I had the beta on an older MacBook Pro without retina and again I have to say that this OS looks much much better on a retina machine. It's almost a shame that it has come out before Apple's entire line is retina ready.

It took about 20 minutes after the download was done. It should be counting down the time remaining.

Recovery partition?

If I wipe my drive and make fresh install from a bootable USB (following tha mavericks instructions), will it create a recovery partition?

Yeah... White screen, spinning wheel... that's all I see. 15 mins now. Scared to power cycle but I'm worried nothing's happening.

I had the same concern. But once you're in it...it's hard to explain. It's not flat like you might think. There's something about the way the OS is layered now that still gives it a sense of depth without feeling artificial (like early OS X versions). It's also the first OS upgrade in quite some time that seems to make things respond quicker. There's something very snappy about the OS.

Definitely different...very flat appearance. It took an hour or so to download on my late-2008 13" aluminum MacBook. It does seem easier on the eyes, despite the fact that I don't like flat.
