Download only took about 5 minutes, although Time Warner just upgraded my neighborhood to 100 mbps service. About a half hour for the install itself.

Still trying to get continuity to work for phone calls. Haven't figure it out yet.

Figured out the phone calls. Need to enable it under FaceTime settings in IOS.

Comsol Multiphysics does not work

First as a warning to any scientists, physicists, and engineers, Comsol Multiphysics software does not work on Yosemite. I have notified them and apple. I hope they fix this otherwise I will have to go back to mavericks.

In addition, I found that iCloud drive, and the wikipedia and movie listing features on spotlight did not work on my 2013 retina macbook pro until after an additional restart.

Open the installer log, then select display ALL messages. If it's on "Verifying Install.dmg" be patient.
Thanks for the reply. When I say I'm stuck at 2 mins that's on the actual install screen. Is this the situation you thought I was in?

OS X Yosemite – as powerful as it looks.

Would love to DL this, but will definitely wait a few weeks for bugs and reports to come in.

Not sure I like the green button now being fullscreen. I used it often to resize the window to fit the webpage and almost never use fullscreen. Does anybody use safari fullscreen? I'd imagine most people are multitasking. But overall I really can't wait for the flatter look, continuity and iCloud drive. All options I will use.

And I would love a moratorium on the use of the phrase "Hey guys" in videos on youtube. It's such a bland & boring salutation.

Same issue here. Been 20 minutes for me of "Setting up..." iCloud drive in iCloud Settings. I can't log in on FaceTime or Messages until that's done apparently. I have no clue how long it's going to take.

Ditto for me - still "setting up" long after I installed Yosemite. I don't have too many documents but do have photos, so perhaps that's the holdup. Hopefully it kicks in ASAP!

11 hours left after I started 3 hours ago. 1 mbps. at my college campus. Where technology is supposed to be state-of-the-art.

So, I've successfully performed a clean install but I'm having a couple of issues concerning apps.

Somehow, two apps I used to use called 'AppCleaner' and 'UnRarX' have disappeared from the App Store meaning I can't install them again.

Secondly, since performing the clean install I cannot reinstall iMovie or iPhoto because the App Store says they both cost £10...instead of free. I used to have those installed, why is it asking me to pay for them?

You didn't think to look OUTSIDE the walled garden of Cupertino?

http://www.unrarx.com/files/UnRarX_2.2.zip

http://www.freemacsoft.net/downloads/AppCleaner_2.2.3.zip

Worked for many, many years just fine, until Apple decided to build the Mac App Store.

Hope that helps.

Try it?

Yesimite...

Bloototh and Wifi are active, and I can make Phonecalls....

Only Handoff isn´t working

Messages app can send and receive SMS?? No!

So one of the exciting features is the Messages app can now receive and send SMS messages. No, it doesn't work. I send a message from a non-iphone to my phone number, and my Messages app is set up to receive messages to my phone number as well. Nothing shows. Also when I initiate a message to a non-iphone number from the Messages app, it says that number is not registered with iMessage.

Is this working for anyone? You'd think there would be less demand since 8.01 gate
Yes it's working for me, installing now, but that IOS 8.01 was a real PITA for me, I've reset the iPad a couple of times and it's working better now, but still not like it was before.
You'd think I would have learnt by now, but i I always jump in head first.

Once.

Go into the Applications folder and find the Install Yosemite app. Copy it to your other Macs and enjoy.

Thanks for your help.

Last time I tried to do that when I upgraded to Mavericks but as soon as it was installed that file disappeared of Applications folder. Not sure why. Hope it doesn't happen again.

Best regards,

Downloading now for Mid 2012 11" Air. Been downloading for about 45 minutes and I'm 1.38GB in. Says it's going to take another 3 hours before it's ready. Oh joy.

OS X Yosemite

I finally got the download, but it is taking forever to download, it is just me or is anyone else downloads taking forever, :(

By the way, just one question... Does Cindori's TRIM Enabler work on Yosemite final release? Or will I have to purchase the 10$ Premium TRIM Enabler functions in order to disable kext signing?

Thanks.
