downloaded quickly for me earlier. west coast here.

I've been running DP for months now, now issues for me.

About to install the public release over DP. rMBP 15 here.

By the way, just one question... Does Cindori's TRIM Enabler work on Yosemite final release? Or will I have to purchase the 10$ Premium TRIM Enabler functions in order to disable kext signing?

Thanks.

try it and find out and let us know, okay? thanks.

So one of the exciting features is the Messages app can now receive and send SMS messages. No, it doesn't work. I send a message from a non-iphone to my phone number, and my Messages app is set up to receive messages to my phone number as well. Nothing shows. Also when I initiate a message to a non-iphone number from the Messages app, it says that number is not registered with iMessage.

You have to wait until Monday and iOS 8.1....

"SMS requires an iPhone with iOS 8.1."

Worked for me.

Wow, how embarrassing. I completely forgot I hadn't originally downloaded those apps from the MAS. Sorry for wasting your time.

hehe... it's okay - and you didn't "waste" my time - I wanted to help you, it was a pleasure to spend time doing so :)

God bless you.

Install took about an hour, though I wasn't hovering over my Macbook Air the entire time. Dark mode is completely pointless, but overall, the OS is nice.

I've gotten updates for iWork & iTunes, but STILL no update for Updating Yosemite from Public Beta 6... Should I just go ahead and download it from the App Store, or is it better for me to wait for a software update?

that happened to me too. I rebooted my iMac and the download took only 25 minutes or so after that

Yeah I'm having issues. Is there anyway to kill the download and delete anything already downloaded? Even if I stop the download I can't get it out of launchpad. I even went into applications and deleted the unfinished Yosemite file. Now I feel like I ruined everything

Thanks for your help.

Last time I tried to do that when I upgraded to Mavericks but as soon as it was installed that file disappeared of Applications folder. Not sure why. Hope it doesn't happen again.

Best regards,

I should have said to grab it before you do your first install as it does that.

I downloaded it from the App Store as opposed to doing an update. It took about 30 minutes or so. Works like a charm!

For those of you who installed Yosemite's Public Beta: I called Apple tech support about whether to install the new release or whether Apple will update the Beta. They said to download and install the new release. Apple might release an update for the Beta in a few weeks, but there's no need to wait for that.

Also remember that after you download but before you install, there's an opportunity to put it on a flash drive or burn a copy of the DMG to speed installation if you have more than one Mac. (You'll need a dual-layer DVD or a BluRay; the image is 5.2 gb.)

I'm using Mavericks. The Yosemite installation file doesn't have an option for fresh install or upgrade. Is this safe; just upgrade? Is it fresh; erasing my files?

You can fly from America to Australia in that time, wowsie.

There's a reason the internet here is called the "Snailthernet;" it's so slow. I remember when iOS 8 came out the whole system went down. That and Sunday afternoons for football. Though my college talks up the internet saying it's the best in the university system.

How'm I doing, folks?

Apparently I am forgetting something I once knew. How do I monitor the progress of the download (as in, how much, so far, or how-close-to-completion) of Yosemite's installer from the App Store? It just tells me it's "Downloading"... I wanna KNOWWWW! (note thwarted early-adopter behavior and resulting tantrum)
