For me, that was a quick (have 150 MB down) download. On my 27" iMac, started at 4:32 here locally. By 4:40 it was ready to install.

I have a mid 2010 iMac with 4gig PB 6 and have no slowness issues. I use Final Cut Pro X and Motion 5, and those apps are a little slow, but thats expected LOL for my system specs.

Thanks for the quick reply! I have a mid 2010 MBP, and was just a little worried it would run a little slower. I don't use anything heavy so I should be good here :)

Can anyone who has installed the final version of Yosemite confirm the Build number?

If I am on the latest public beta, and download the installer for Yosemite through the App Store, will it wipe the partition I am on? TIA

here it comes

Downloading at reasonable speed (over my 100 Mbps -> 802.11n-connected Mac mini, I'm being told about 20 min left, after starting <5 min ago) here in east Tennessee ...

Delete blow plist file, if you have error on MacAppStore
/Library/Updates/ProductMetadata.plist

Looks like the only difference between GM 3 (14A388a) and App Store (14A389) might be the version of iTunes.

Seriously.....with the piddly market share OS X has and the massive resources Apple has....why is it every launch is the same. Slow or not available?

-Kevin

But you have to consider that half of this "piddly market share" is hitting "cmd + R" 10 times a second.

As a comparison to that at Windows 8 launch the ginormus market share of them was more like:

Put the installer on a thumb drive. Save the bandwidth.

It is. Before installing, be sure to *move* the installer from your applications folder. Perhaps even copy it to your desktop or something. Then it won't get trashed when it is installed. (At least, I believe that's how it works.)

Mavericks and Mountain Lion both download their installers into your Applications folder - at least they did for me. I moved the installers to our file server to install on the five macs that I manage at out office without any problems.

Thank you so much. Will try :)

I've been on the public beta for a few months but now I want to do a clean install. But I don't have a USB drive to create a bootable drive. Can I install the installer (when it's done downloading...) in a partition in an external hard drive?
Can anyone comment?
Thanks

Shouldn't Feedback Assistant disappear whenever public testers make the jump to final? Or are we just stuck with that now?
