So I bet we'll see a preview, if not a beta, of it at WWDC since iPhone OS beta is wrapping up and developers can focus their attention on getting iPad apps ready.
Yes, it would seem likely that an iPhone OS 4.x for iPad beta would be revealed. The focus will be on the iPhone/iPad developer tools.

Steve announced Snow Leopard 10.6 three weeks before 10.5.4 was released, and it's looking like 10.6.4 will be released within a few weeks. I don't see why 10.7 wouldn't be announced at WWDC.

And Steve said "You won't be disappointed", even after the Gizmodo incident, so lets expect a lot more than iPhone OS 4 :)

Please a new version of ilife suite and iwork .

I think the probability of a major revision is close to zero. Maybe they’ll finally take iWork.com out of beta, give it a decent price and a serious enough overhaul that people will give a damn about it, and then update iWork ’09 to make it compatible. But a developer’s conference isn’t the right venue for new-new versions/

Well, I just saw this at the Moscone Center, so I guess all our predictions were wrong... :apple:

Macrumors should elaborate on what these so called "wispers" about a new Mac Pro that they say they have "heard" are exactly.

I'm just happy to see that Apple is working on Mac OS X 10.7. With all the attention focused on iPhone and iPad recently, I was worried that Steve might not think the world needs new or better "trucks" anymore.

I'm shocked to see that the Apple folks working on 10.7 get to take the weekends off. :p (Or maybe they just don't hang out at MR on weekends?).

I for one am prepared to be disappointed.

B

Yeah they all slack off, browsing MR during work. They've got much better things to do during the weekends!

Maybe they're looking at popular opinion for the next kitty name.

Poor MBA users didnt even get a mention in this rumour roundup!

I really hope WWDC won't be a constant iPhone fest, would be nice to hear something about the Mac :p

They will talk about their new bail bonds service for people who steal prototype equipment. They will also announce the cancellation of 10.7. 10.7 will be replaced by XI (Space Marmot). Apple will be moving on to XI because they have ran out of big cats. releases of XI will be named after fictional animals like unicorns and users who liked Vista.

OS XI will be the first Apple operating system that requires the user to enter a registration number. XI 1.0 will operate without registration, however the background will automatically be set to a Steve Jobs swimsuit calendar.

Apple expects 100% compliance with their new registration policy.

*SNIP*
Steve Jobs promised that we wouldn't be disappointed, so there is always the hope for something more.
*SNIP*

Steve Jobs' email didn't contain the word promise. Plus, being disappointed is a subjective term. There's no way on earth he could promise no disappointment. I'm sure there will be plenty of disappointment, actually.

New MacBook Air ....?

Yes pleeeeaaaase!

For as long as the traditional PC survives, I want mine to be an Air! I love this machine, but I wouldn’t mind a speed bump soon. (A total redesign would be cool, but I love the current one form factor already. WELL worth a couple hundred to have a laptop I can so easily pick up with one hand and not have to put down what I’m already holding in the other.)

It won’t be ARM, of course, because then it wouldn’t run Mac software.

I'm sure Steve will make a brief mention of OSX 10.7.

I also anticipate a new Mac Mini form factor update to match the AppleTV.

Jason Chen makes an appearance at WWDC officially announcing the 4th gen iPhone.

good one lol. my prediction is that there's going to be "fake bar" on the stage where there will be fake thief, drunk dude, etc. and that'd be hilarious :p similar to what steve did to Classic 9 with the coffin ;)

Jason Chen makes an appearance at WWDC

Yes, for a public arrest.

When is usually the keynote available to watch? I wonder how long will we have to wait. I am thinking about waiting for that and not following live blogs this time. Video is much more interesting to watch. I wish there would be a live stream..

I keep fingers crossed for:
-new iPhone has 960x640 resolution screen
-new iPhone can record HD video
-iPhone OS 4.0 has cool free iChat with audio and video
-MobileMe goes free, with new features, better iDisk
-Game center comes live soon
-name of the next cat would be lovely to hear
-lock screen notifications on iPhone OS 4.0, even very limited that just count what is waiting for you

I like the idea of streaming options on iTunes (Note the word options). I also like the idea of Apple TV connecting directly to Time Capsule. It would be nice if they added the ability to do soft raid on Time Capsule. It would also be nice if they let you back up one Time capsule to another Time Capsule.

I don't think the rumors that Apple will start letting people write game apps for Time Capsule could be correct.

Spoiler Free

Is there going to be a spoiler free page? You know with the link to the Keynote when it's up?

I'm sure there will be, and it seems to me that once you're signed up for any event, you'll get notified of any new upcoming events, as entering the same email to sign up will tell you that you're already in the system.

You can also subscribe to Apple's Special Events Podcasts at http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/apple-keynotes/id275834665

and if you leave iTunes open it will download the new podcast when they publish it. Viewers may want this if the stream is choppy or otherwise hard to watch due to bad internet line, busy servers, etc... However, it seems lately that the stream versions have actually played pretty well for me. I guess an upgrade to the old server farm did plenty good.

expectations???

I'm shocked to see that the Apple folks working on 10.7 get to take the weekends off. :p (Or maybe they just don't hang out at MR on weekends?).

I for one am prepared to be disappointed.

B

I have no expectations so I won't be disappinted. Last time I had any expectations I was as you say disappointed.

Jobs enters the stage, waves at the public, turns to the side and waves again to Gizmodo's guys staring at the window.
Shows the new iPhone:
"I am sorry for the spoiled surprise, but I have another one for you - the 4G runs Flash!"
Starts a flash game which crashes.
"Oops"
Opens up iCal and mumbles:
"Hmm, 3 years... Ok, forget it. We'll just use HTML5 for the time being."

Welcome to the walled garden! It is clean here!

That reminded me of Apple's patent awhile back on an ad-based OS which would make you look at ads after a period of time. Makes you wonder if Apple has bigger plans for iAd besides the mobile space.
