Mine took a bit of a tumble the other day, dropped it from about waist height, it kind of rolled down my leg and off of my foot, so not a direct fall. Obviously fine.

I'm still really happy with mine. Great materials, great protection. I've gotten use to the slightly less sensitive screen. Still no oil slicks, which was a huge pet peeve of mine. I've had Otterbox Defenders in the past, had to open them up and clean them every few days to get rid of oil slicks and was always embarrassed when someone would see an oil slick on my screen. I really like that it's sealed and I'm not getting dust particles inside the case.

It's definitely not for everyone but I love it.

The outer rubber on mine is starting to rub off from my holster but other than that its awesome! I wish it had gorilla glass thou

I have that exact LifeProof case and I will be sticking with it, love this case.

I never had a case like this, mostly had basic slip cases from my 3G to 4S, but decided to Spend some $ and protect my IP5, and could not be happier.

I used this thread among others as part of my research into iphone 5 cases before buying the Armor series. Thought i would come back and let you know what i think. It is awesome! In less than 3 hours of receiving it, it had been run over with a corolla and then 200 series land cruiser, submerged in water for over an hour, thrown at a wall and dropped on all sides on concrete from multiple heights exceeding otterbox’s specifications. After all this we put it in a cement mixer (no cement). It still looks brand new other than a slight chip from the wall throw. No sound issues on either end of the calls. Size is no issue either. I actually love the size and weight of the case. I took the phone out the other day to do another water test after it took a big fall at work. Suprisingly I didnt like the feel of my iphone after getting used to the armor so I quickly put it back in! It passed the test by the way, again. Fits in all my pockets fine. O-ring ports are nice and tight and the clips feel very solid. No "sharp"edges like other people have complained. I would recommend this case to anyone! On another note, after reading other people's comments I am almost angered at how ignorant and uneducated some people are. Talks of poor design and that otterbox products are ****? Number 1 smartphone case seller guys, obviously a huge amount of people disagree. One person commented how concerned they were with the o-ring design and how it can't be reliably waterproof. What?!! Don't people know what o-rings are used for? Does your pressure cleaner pump leak when water runs through it? Sealed by o-rings buddy. A nail gun's cylinder and piston is sealed by an o-ring while under pressure up to 120psi. How can you be unconfident with this design? People have also commented on oil slicks and rainbow effects. You do know you have to clean the phone before it goes in and that your skin contains natural oils. You will leave deposits on the screen or the protector when you touch it. People compare this case to the lifeproof, this is not really the best case to compare it to. The lifeproof is only comparable in waterproof and dust proof. It is no way comparable in durability. It is not better in anyway. The case is flimsy and nobody can hear you. It is however slim and light but you either want durability or you dont. Its not called ARMOR for nothing. And no, the lightning/30 pin adaptor won't work. The case has been designed for your iPhones protection, period. Not your stereo or dock.
Thanks for reading my rant and feel free to comment. Oh and BUY AN ARMOR!

Does the back of the case scratch or put marks on the back of the phone? I took mine off and the ridges looked like they were beginning to make a mark???

Yea, that silicone bed will etch it's lines right into the back of the iPhone 5.

I haven't experienced an issue with that yet. The first time I removed my phone from the case I did have some marks from the back but they wiped off with a fine cleaning cloth.

I can not get the iPhone 5 proximity sensor to work when making a call with my armor on it works fine without the case. Is there a trick to fixing this or putting the phone in case.

The defender leaves a mark from the window and square patch on the back of the phone but wipes off.

A few questions comparing the defender v armour for those who have/had both.

1. I have no problem with the screen on my defender is the armour the same?
2. Does the home button feel the same?
3. Does the mute button work ok?
4. Is it the same material when holding?

Is the armour worth the extra size for complete coverage and being water proofed?

They are $109 here in Australia?

3. Does the mute button work ok?

I can't speak to the other questions, but I spent an hour in the store with the sales people trying to get the mute switch to work, could not do it, it might work once then it wouldn't, then it would. Very unpredictable. They opened several cases and none would work well with the mute switch.

Lots of folks here like it and I am sure it is good for some people, I did not like the bulk it added. Before I get flamed for that, this is my personal opinion, I am not saying it is bad, I am saying it is not for me.

I'll comment. I'm glad you like your case. Having been a Lifeproof user since they came out, I tried out an Armor case. Like I said, I'm glad you like it and that it fits your needs. It isn't close to fitting mine. I need a waterproof case that is an everyday carry. The Armor case is huge, takes up way too much room in my pocket, and I don't intend to have my phone run over by a Corolla OR a Land Cruiser. Obviously you do, so it sounds perfect for you. I also had a hit-or-miss relationship with the mute switch. I want something light, waterproof and don't mind the occasional Newton's rings and a slightly decreased sound output. I just upgraded to a 5 and gave my son my old 4S LIfeproof. He had destroyed two Defenders in several months. Makes no difference to me what the biggest case maker is if their cases don't meet my needs. But telling everyone to "buy an Armor" is misdirected. "If you throw your phone under cars, buy an Armor" might be more appropriate.

I am new to threads and discussing phone cases is different to me. The Armor is awesome. It provides tons of protection and it does not have the oil slick on the screen. I am on my 5th though because I had a run of crappy armor cases. I use the lifeproof every once in a while as well. I works great too. The otter is very protective and is better for construction. It can easily survive sheet rock dust and saw dust, water, oil, snow, food, and babies

this is a freakishly intense case.

Picked up an Armor today. So far it's a huge improvement over the Atlas.

Passed the water test. Screen is very responsive, much more than the Atlas. Mute switch is stiff, but works just fine. It's so easy to get on and off that I don't care about the size because I only need it at work and the beach. Music comes through the speakers just fine, though I haven't made a phone call yet.

I'm happy to hear that you are enjoying your case so far...I actually really liked this case. However, making a phone call just did it for me. I called my friends and I literally couldn't understand a word they were saying. On the other hand, they couldn't hear me clearly either unless I unplugged the headphone jack. I kept the phone for about 5 days and I returned it...Im still waiting for the otterbox company to make some adjustments and come out with another set of "improved" armor series. Let me know what your opinions are regarding the upper speakers. It really isn't bad when u r in a quiet room...but as soon as you go out to a "noisy" environment, I mean even just hanging out at the mall will not allow you to hear the other person.

Got a chance to test it out tonight. Spoke with my girlfriend several times on my way home, didn't tell her I had a case on my phone and she didn't notice. Called my roommate's phone and he said I sounded fine. Then, I had him trade phones with me and we went into different rooms and he sounded loud/clear on my phone through the earpiece and on speakerphone.

Tomorrow I'll be taking it to work with me to tackle the dust/hair flying around. The Atlas was so unusable it didn't stay on my phone long enough to make it there.

That's I'd awesome to hear. Maybe my case had the design defect? It's funny too bc I just went into the AT&T store today to check if they released any of the "improved" batches and they were asking me what the problem was with the first case. I told them that it was the sound problem and they actually said there were multiple customers who returned theirs bc of that...idk. Could you try it out again in a environment with more noises around?

Sure, I'll likely get a few calls tomorrow while I'm at work(lots of equipment running and dogs barking).

Does yours have a black membrane covering the bottom speaker? I'm used to seeing the mesh, but that's a new one for me.

Amazon prices fluctuate but I have seen them as low as $64 from Amazon. These are sold by Amazon and not 3rd party. Be sure Amazon is your seller. Plenty of fakes from the 3rd parties.

Today they are at $65 for a low.

No tax for most states and free or better free prime shipping.

Just FYI

Also returns to Amazon are super simple. If you get a defective case you can either return it or have it replaced. They will even send you the replacement before you send back your bad one.

Sorry to be an Amazon commerical but $65 has me thinking about buying one again and I dont even want or need one.

Ha I appreciate the 'commercial.' You've got me thinking about buying one again as well. I returned it due to the bulk, but I've been appreciating its sound and screen quality after trying out the Atlas. Didn't know Amazon had it at a discount.

Quick question that maybe someone who has the case can help me out with. Is the bezel of the screen completely covered or does it show through the screen protector around the edges?

I'm trying to decide between the white/blue one and the gray/orange. I have a white iPhone so if the white shows through around the edges of the screen it may look a little odd or distracting in the grey case.

I have a black phone so it's kinda hard to tell, but there is a bit of a black border around my screen in the case(I have the white case).
