I just got mine and the screen sits flush on the display. I don't see any signs of oil slick or rainbowing. Also I don feel any type of rattling.

Great case.

I'd like to see him do that with the Armor case face up.

At 11:40 of the video, he sets up the phone's camera and does face the case face up. The case passed that crush test with no issues.

3x as heavy...

Armor's
Weight:
3.91 oz / 110.88 g
Dimensions:
5.51 in x 2.97 in x 0.70 in / 14.02 cm x 7.55 cm x 1.78 cm (note cm)

LifeProof's
Weight:
1.05 oz / 29.8 g
Dimensions:
5.4” x 2.6” x 0.5” / 137.5 mm x 67.1 mm x 12.2 mm (note mm)

O rings are very easy to replace and cheap. Good comeback handy man.

Sounds like a bunch of wimps talking trash lol. This is a mans case. Not for someone who sits at a desk all week.

Do the last few poster work for LIfeProof?

I think the case was face down, but I could be wrong, either way, the LifeProof couldn't take being run over by a car face down or face up.

I had a LifeProof for my 4s and for my 5 for a little bit and never once even had the thought of listening to music in the water.

I think the best case would actually be a mixture of all of these waterproof cases together, there are some things LifeProof does right but others they do wrong and same for OtterBox and Seidio.

I'll have my Armor on Monday and see how it works for me. I'll report here.

I do wanna thank all of you for posting in these case threads its been a lot of fun!!

You are all awesome!

Crush Proof = mowing? (one of the real tests for us is mowing besides 2-ton crush)

We have Otterbox Defender, Otterbox Commuter, and LifeProof (all 3 new colored cases) for iPhone 5's

I was reading the last couple of posts and started thinking about the port covers on the bottom breaking or wearing out. The great thing is that If you remove the back those covers just slide out and are easy to replace.

You guys are right, the video does show the case face up. At 12:35, I wonder why he shows the back of the case to the camera and points out the tread marks on the back.

EDIT After looking at the video again the case is face down not face up.

watch the video on a computer, the case is clearly face down, around 12:01 you can see the camera ports on the back. He also shows the back and says you can see tire tracks.

Still impressive!

I picked a blue & white case up yesterday afternoon. This thing is extremely solid, but excessively bulky and heavy. I really like the screen protector comparedto the Lifeproof though. It seems to be a bit thicker and stiffer and so far I've had no rainbows.

As mentioned by someone else, the opening for the lightning plug is REALLY tight. Apple's lightning cable fits alright, but 30-pin to lightning adaptor (the more expensive one with a short cable) doesn't. I honestly thought that the lightning plug on this adapter was the same size as the one on the lightning-USB cable, but apparently it's a little bigger. I have to take the phone out of the case to use it.

I'm going to give it a few days, but I think the huge size of this thing and that frustratingly small opening for the lightning plug are going to result in this thing going back.

When I first put the case on there was. slifht muffle when I was talking on the phone. After replanting the phone mic first it sounds perfect.

Just an FYI for anyone.

So if anyone is interested I may do an unboxing/initial thoughts/tests video on my YouTube channel. I've been using the case since Friday so I can provide a little info about it. But so far I really like the case. It's big as hell, but it's really nice to not care at all about the phone. Just toss it around and take it in the shower to listen to music.

Fully agree with you. I can freely let my kids play on my phone now without having to care what they are doing with the phone, where they are sitting, etc...

For as big as these types of cases are they should really just engineer them to float...

Ha I agree, but if someone at Otterbox is able to engineer this brick to float there'd be a serious waste of engineering talent (not to mention salary opportunity) taking place!!!

Anyone else having a problem with the plastic by the clips tearing? Mines starting to almost peal near the bottom one. Also my green seals are already staining. I've had the case for 3 freaking days and haven't been rough on it at all. For $100 I didn't expect this to happen so soon.

I noticed that rubber by the clips would peel off easy, you have to be careful snapping the buckles. Also after testing the case a second time, the case was leaking in water somewhere. Return the first case and this new one has a clip that is rattling so bad that it will be going back also.

No quality in any of this crap.

The Armor has a 16th-of-an-inch gap that goes all the way around it. This may only keep dust and water out temporarily? One of our real tests is ocean.
