That's what mine says, too... I can also no longer change the order as it is "being prepared for shipment and cannot be canceled or changed."

I canceled my pre-order with Amazon/Beach Camera for the Commuter. This should free up a slot for someone whom missed out on the pre-order.

I just got an email from Beach Camera saying that the "product I ordered is currently not in stock and on backorder."
Not sure what that's all about, since it hasn't been released yet, UNLESS somehow I didn't get in on the intial batch they had available?? It says they hope to receive the item within 5-7 days.

I got this email too, so I called. She said that they expect to have them in by Friday, and that they'll ship out, at the latest, by Monday.
When did you get that email just today? Cause I got the same one but on July 27th so 5-7 days would mean they have them august 3rd tomorrow. Little confused on how this is working
If the August 3rd release date is true I stumbled upon this at the right time. Seems like a good case for me. My PDOcase saved my iPhone 3GS from more drops than my clumsy hands could count. I will probably give the Otterbox Commuter a go.
I had a blue PDO Silk. They have a render of a blue case, but must have cut it as an option for the iPhone 4 version. Any guess on how long it might take them to release Otterboxes in more colors? Were the earlier iPhone model cases out in colors right away or did they start in black?

All of ours have been this way since last week. I called BeachCamera today and they said they're not shipping them until the 10th

Well that's frustrating! But...better late than never, I've converted all my friends and even my IT department into Otter users. I'm still excited....

I'm wondering if they ran into some kind of production issues on this case or flash issues or something... when they released the Defender, they promised the others were coming "VERY soon". I wouldn't call this "VERY" soon. BUT... I'd rather wait 'til the 10th and get a case that's done RIGHT, then get something in the mail that I'm going to hate or have to send back.
Whatever the "case", Otterbox... GIT ER DONE!!!
