I'm wondering if they ran into some kind of production issues on this case or flash issues or something... when they released the Defender, they promised the others were coming "VERY soon". I wouldn't call this "VERY" soon. BUT... I'd rather wait 'til the 10th and get a case that's done RIGHT, then get something in the mail that I'm going to hate or have to send back.

Whatever the "case", Otterbox... GIT ER DONE!!!

True... I'm a bit surprised at Otterbox for taking this long to release their cases. I mean, it seems most of the design was done in advance, and the materials should have been ready to go, too, so just some tweaking of measurements and creation of the dies. I dunno, though, I'm not a manufacturing expert. But I guess their engineering team must focus on one case at a time. :confused:

Guess we'll find out Tuesday!
 
I may wait a bit to see if there will be some color variations like the other phone versions soon. Any idea how long it was before they made color variations for the older versions?

I emailed Otterbox about it at the end of July and I was told it would probably be one to two months.
 
I got an order update from Amazon yesterday

New estimated arrival date: August 25 2010 - August 31 2010
 
Just got off the phone with Beach camera. They were contacted by Otterbox last week that theres going to be a delay. I asked him if they gave him a timeframe and he said probably mid to late August.

Oh well.... Im still gonna wait for it hopefully Otterbox gets it right the first time. Its just funny you would think the Defender was the more complex case to make ya know?
 
Thanks, Mpjohnny5... that really sucks. Based on some of the emails copied in the Defender thread, it looks like Otterbox is having all kinds of problems. Though I was surprised to see the weather in China being one. I would've thought these were made in Japan or Korea based on the price.

And still, I wait... :(

I ordered a few days ago thru Amazon (again). I don't really care about this case day to day anymore - whenever it shows up it shows up. This whole thing has been aggravating.
 
Okay... now I'm starting to get really frustrated. This was supposedly going to be released on the 3rd, and still isn't here. And when they released the Defender case, they announced the others would be "coming VERY soon!"

I mean, REALLY, Otterbox? It takes this long? Do you have like one monkey sealing them in packaging or something?? :rolleyes:
 
I dunno about you guys but I got an email today from amazon saying your order has been cancelled with beach camera because the item is out of stock. Please return and place your order at a later time. Ya when!!?
 
Interesting... I just checked, and my order still shows up. I did get an email on the 8th saying this, though:

We're writing about the marketplace order you placed on 7/26/2010 with Beach Camera. Unfortunately, Beach Camera has not confirmed the shipment of this order, and we are not able to provide you with shipment details yet. Because of this, your credit card has not been charged.

That doesn't mean the order was cancelled... just that I've not yet been charged. Is that what you got?

I wonder if you ordered yours before I did and a time limit kicked in. That sucks... I don't want them to cancel my order, I just want Otterbox to PRODUCE it! :(
 
I placed my order thru Amazon. They state delivery between August 31 and September 1.
