The AT&T stores in my area have always exchanged damaged accessories

With my 4, I went to get a new clip (old holster broke), and the AT&T rep even made sure I had the new design of the iphone 4/4S defender (I didn't).

AT&T seems to have a good relationship/understanding with Otterbox.

Wirelessly posted

That's the exact same issue I had posted about earlier. The clip is eating up the rubber!

Mine does not move - however this is my problem....

Exact same thing is going on with mine. It is the midnight blue model. I also have discoloration along the outer portion of the silicone and substantial amount of fraying around where the camera is.

I contacted Otterbox and they are sending out another. They told me that the "first batch" of defenders had some issues, and this next batch should be void of these problems... We will see.

The defenders made in Mexico are of cheaper quality then the ones made in China. The silicone is cheaper feeling and the plastic shell is very easy to pull apart on the Mexican version.

I have one from China and one from Mexico, the Mexican version is going back to the store.

Has anyone had luck eliminating the "rainbow" effects or air/moisture pockets between the glass and the screen protector on the Otterbox defender?

I'm in the military - and the Otterbox defender has saved me numerous times in the past...so I really want to keep with it on my new iPhone 5.

I just ordered this from amazon:

Had read somewhere that adding this into the mix will eliminate the issues I'm talking about.

I've seen a YT vid where a bottle of baby powder was shaken. Then the top was opened and with a light squeeze the baby powder cloud was aloud to dust the Defender's screen shield from the inside.

It took several attempts, but once done the rainbow effect was gone and no powder was visible.

Need to press hard for the top button (on/off) .. and very troublesome when need to use earpiece. I am considering to change to normal case.

Just got a defender IP5 in black from Amazon. I was wondering if the retail cases from Best Buy, Walmart, or phone store have "Made in China" stamped inside the rubber part? There are lots of knock-offs going around. Mine seems to be authentic but just wondering.

no wiggle in mine, although i didnt like the feel of the built in screen protector, answer......i removed it and put a SPG ultra crystal on and then the case....perfect now....

I popped out the plastic and installed a sigpen glas.tr . It's glass so it feels better and it doesn't scratch. Absolutely love and recommend it. If you break it the replacement are only like 13$, which the plastic screen protectors tend to wear out on my otterboxes from scuffs and scratches rather quickly, so this solved 2 problems.

phone slow ?

I have never heard of a phone going slower and possible getting things late either the only time I ran into the problem like that was using an aluminum case on the iPhone where it would reduce the signal a couple to a few bars. At that time I was getting things late battery would drain faster.... I'm sure your otterbox had nothing to do with that considering there's no metal inside of the case or on the outside.... Just a fluke I'm thinking or a bad reception area maybe a tower down for a bit ?
