I think the Apple phone staff know about as much as the UPS phone staff i.e. exactly what we see on screen. You call them up and they just read out what they see or invent what they think is probably happening!

Whe've been peacefully speculating and refreshing websites while waiting on our first hour orders.
And now suddenly you come here bitching about how the SJ and the CEO of UPS didn't personally inform you about the status of your order.... (of 2-3 days later)
Relax... it's just a computer and it's just companies trying to get some work done and make some money.... (i bet they are more productive than you are constantly tracking our order and calling hotlines)

Purely speculation but given that UPS are now guaranteeing their usual service times as of today (tomorrow for Europe), they are probably on top of things and we'll start to see our backlogged packages start to move shortly.
Still merge in transit. I ordered on the 13th, got notification it shipped on the 17th, have delivery dates of 26th April, 3rd May and 5th May at various points in my order status. The Apple rep said that the 26th is the aimed for date and the 5th May the worst case date so should arrive between these dates.
Why does Apple have to ship everything from China?? WHY!!! Why don't they just ship directly from their Apple Store or their warehouse somewhere in Europe, just like they do with their iPods or other devices!!! I hate to wait in the dark like this....🙁

Getting stuff from Apple is extremely hard work (considering the inflated price and all)
I am thiiiiiis close to cancelling my order. Just have this unshakeable feeling that I am chasing a MIRAGE...
Never had to wait soooo long for a laptop (including waiting for Arrandale, etc)
Apple make good quality stuff, but for the price, they could at least release a little more effing info...

This is weird. Just checked my bank account and the MBP value that was help due to the pending payment to Apple just went back to the account ? 😕
And my order status just changed to "prepared for shipment". Should I expect the email to arrive soon ?

I got mine marked as "shipped" today [ordered on 19th] but constantly checked the UPS website just shows the annoying "IN TRANSIT" ...I've been very satisfied with Apple so far, but this is the most disappointed experience I've got with them! Pls, Apple and UPS, work a way out for our MBP!!!

Come on, full flight schedule has just resumed today in Europe, Apple and UPS aren't responsible for the volcano (I ordered on april 13...).
Straight of Gibraltar, actually.... a town called Tarifa, southernmost point in continental Europe - Yes, it's a nice place - though obviously not on Apple's express delivery list!
UPS just marked it as "IN TRANSIT" but I think it didn't leave Shanghai yet...
and I'm frustrated because I never expect something like 7-10 days delivery time from Apple 🙁
Hopefully UPS will deliver our MBP soon 🙁

People have been waiting alot longer and are still waiting. I ordered mine 17 April and it's just shipped today.
It's the volcano, I don't think Apple can do much about this. Well they should send within 1 day, but that impossible 😀

The laptops are build-to-order in China, at the end of the day UPS have been massively affected by the grounding of their flights on Aisa>Europe routes and probably have a huge backlog to process...of course there are going to be delays.
And spare a thought for all the poor people who've been stranded in various places around the globe!

No that's not true.
There are reports of people, mainly 15" users, who have already received them.
all you people with stranded mbp 15/17 might as well cancel your order.. unless you like dealing with the fiasco that is the intel/nvidia gpu switch .. don't be apple's lab rat
Ive been in Gibraltar several times, but never west of Gibraltar. This summer Im going to Almuñecar. Would you recommend a trip to Tarifa? I've heard words about beaches as in paradise and great for surfing?
