So - are these sold out everywhere? How hard is it just now to go to an Apple Store and get a 64GB iPad? I really hope its easy because I'm sending my friend to buy one
Well, aside from the fact that my family is not English (as suggested by that link), we were chased out of Europe (by a bunch of tools) 65 years ago.
Great, thanks Apple for screwing over the rest of the world, as if we don't suffer enough with the inflated prices. Of course what they meant to say is "We are sorting out the wifi issues but don't want to admit it".
oh right, so you are calling Johnny Ive a tool then ? on MacRumors ?
in fact, if you are a white American - your ancestors would have been from Europe - which makes you a tool too. Redkneck.
Why would you want our refined cheeses when you invented spray cheese in a can ?
As I pointed out, my family was expelled from Europe by the German tools for not being sufficiently tool-y - further evidence of European toolitude.
Actually, I was raised in Monroe, NY, where each year there is a cheese festival to celebrate their greatest local accomplishment: Velveeta (which comes in bricks, not cans, I'll have you know!)
playing the Jewish Card niceeeeee
Yes. Doh!Would it be less offensive if I had said "all Europeans posting on this thread are tools?"
Just saying "No" doesn't invalidate my statement and rhetoric convinces nobody with any intelligence. I'm aware that the 300 000 included pre-orders. Hence putting quotes around "first day" sales. Regardless of your opinion, ipad sales have LOST momentum from last week. They sold 150 000 in the first 4 days after launch, but in the following 6 days they only sold 50 000. Therefore, the data show sales are slowing. I didn't say the ipad would fail. I said that since last week there has been less demand, and therefore they should have been able to predict any shortfall in supplies last week, when demand was higher than it is now. But they didn't want to admit to their developers that they were going to delay shipment by a month, because they wanted people to get all excited and start developing for a product that wasn't going to materialize for two months.
Why cant the available stock be shared ?
Sucks to the non US customer base and is a real smack round the face to be honest to be told they are selling 'so well' in the US so 'You cant have one'.
What happens if they continue to sell 'so well' ...
meh... after the lame macbook pro updates and UK price hikes despite the £ being much better now, Im just about giving up on Apple.

If any Europeans wish to boycott the apps made by Cliff Maier, of Waffleturtle Software - here is the list of his apps so you know not to line his xenophobic pockets :
Vegas Solitaire - Blackjack - Demon Solitaire - Pyramid Solitaire - Golf Solitaire - Hearts - Spades - Contractions - Kicker - CounterPatents
I was at an Apple store yesterday and there were plenty for sale. While I played with one 2 women came in and had one of best conversations I've heard...
"This looks cool, it could be the small computer I've been looking for."
"Neat, it uses apps from the app store."
"Oh, it's just a big iPhone."
She puts it down and leaves the store. I think a lot of the general public that isn't as effected by the RDF is going to do exactly like she did.
Now that I've played with one I think it's a neat device, but it has its problems. Weight is a huge issue. I can't see anyone holding this up with 1 hand while reading for very long. Typing is horrible. I tried both orientations, thumbs, no thumbs, etc. I can type much much faster on my iPhone. The iWork apps just seemed gimmicky to me.
The positives were the screen, games, and some iPad specific apps. The screen really is amazing quality. I played a few games and they were a lot of fun and well adapted to the iPad. They also had a few iPad specific apps like email and the weather that looked nice. Too bad email, for me anyways, is mostly typing.
I tried hard to justify buying one yesterday, but in the end I'll have to wait until my app is closer to needing hardware level testing.
What's a "mudwhistle?"
I haven't gotten mine yet, either (pre-ordered a 3G). Europe - when you guys come out with a new kind of stinky cheese, you don't hear me whining that you eat it all up and don't share it with us colonists. The Asians in this thread are being much more reasonable, perhaps because they know that they are actually the ones who get the best stuff first.
Didn't Steve state last week that an international delay due to high demand in the U.S. wouldn't happen?
Would it be less offensive if I had said "all Europeans posting on this thread are tools?"
Right. You expect a scant 10"-screen-and-not-much-more to outperform a full-featured notebook.I'll buy one when it's a real MBP-killer
Yawn, Really really bad attempt at trolling here. You going to try to link every story to apple/adobe fiasco? Get over it..
Most people that want the Ipad would prefer that it did support it flash, but even without the support, they are going to get it.
Point of this story, international users just got very disappointed. Nothing to do with flash!
