Absolutely. He throws people out at home and even at second when he plays the ball off the Monster if they try to go for a double.
Isn't that the idea of any player? Try to throw the runner out at home.

well yeah, but Manny is nasty at it.

We're headed back to Boston! :D

Just gonna throw this fact out there:

In game one of the 2004 ALCS, Curt Schilling lasted for only 3 innings and gave up 6 runs. He then came back in game six with the bloody sock and gave up only 1 run over 7 innings.

This year, he was rocked for 5 runs and lasted 4 2/3 innings. Now he's coming back in game six.

Even bringing in her to sing the national anthem didn't shake up Beckett :D

They asked him about it in the press conference:

"I don't make the ****in decisions. She's a friend of mine, so it doesn't bother me at all. Thanks for flying one of my friends to the game so she could watch it for free."

lol
Good thing the FCC doesn't control cable or NESN would be out like 300 grand.

Beckett was great last night..But somebody else has to step up and win a game for the Sox..The 7-8-9 guys are struggling big time. Getting to back to Fenway could help that..If that win doesn't put a spark under their ass, nothing will..

On another note..Anybody remember when baseball playoff games were on in the afternoon??I can remember rushing home from school to watch them...

Indians claim they didn't know:
"It's an incredible coincidence. Honestly," Indians spokesman Bob DiBiasio told the Cleveland Plain-Dealer. "This isn't another bug thing.
"She's from Ohio. Her entire family are Indians fans."

Hmm, but check out this picture, she is 2nd from the left.

Well whether or not they knew, it didn't matter. Beckett is too solid to have something that trivial shake him up. Last night on the mound he looked as cool as possible (kind of like Tom Brady in the pocket). He was just chilling there throwing for 11 strikeouts :)

Having watched last night's game, I gotta concede, Beckett is damn good. Too bad the Tribe couldn't put it away, but there are two more chances, and we've already done it once in Boston.

As far as that business about Beckett's back being in delicate condition...bull****. :D I'm sure that was put out for the Indians' consumption. If that's a guy pitching with a sore back that tends to stiffen up, I'm the King of Siam.

His back was fine. I think the reason Francona said that was to try to draw less heat about starting Wakefield instead of Beckett in game 4.

On another note, lets hope tomorows lineup is as follows:

Ellsbury - CF
Pedroia - 2B
Ortiz - DH
Ramirez - LF
Lowell - 3B
Youkilis - 1B
Drew - RF
Varitek - C
Lugo - SS

Hopefully Lugo can pick it up.. I believe that he will. He batted .286 at Fenway this year. Plus Cora wouldn't be any better.

But Coco hasn't been doing great all year and he's doing especially bad now. I don't see why they don't go with Ellsbury (other than Francona's stubbornness). Ellsbury will be the starting CF next year (and lead off man) and he batted .353 this year in 33 games.

His back was fine. Ken Rosenthal,on FOX,got it all started Tuesday night as suggesting that was the reason they were using Wakefield instead of him. It was a non issue from the get go...
I can't see Francona starting Crisp..The 7-8-9 guys are struggling big time. Crisp and Lugo are as automatic a two outs as you can get now...Good to see Pedroia break out...

Field box seats, near the field for Game 6....$1300.00 each....

The city is real busy..The Head of the Charles Regatta is also this weekend.
