So cynical. We’re talking cutting edge technology hereIsn't there a proverb that goes something like "A fool and his money are soon parted" ?
Edit: Or maybe that was just on a fortune cookie. . .![]()

I’m curious if this is a product they intended to make ahead of the HomePod release, because that was relatively fast, since the article surfaced yesterday. Just seems coincidental that these are available for sale the following day after the article of the HomePod leaving marks.

Here's 6 leather coasters on Amazon for $15... https://www.amazon.com/Leather-Coasters-Protect-Furniture-Scratch/dp/B075PW1KKG/
It legitimately looks like Pad & Quill just ordered something similar to those and stamped their name on them.

Because the living ones won't hold still.
Why not just get one of the kids to stand still and hold it, by promising them ice cream?Construction paper and sticky tack. Yeah, my wife owns a daycare.

More likely it's closer to what @ck2875 said. They're repurposing ordinary leather coasters and trying to gouge the gullible. A cursory google of "leather coasters" will turn up more leather coasters than you can shake a stick at.I’m curious if this is a product they intended to make ahead of the HomePod release, because that was relatively fast, since the article surfaced yesterday. Why do they have to be made from a piece of a dead animal?

Why? It just leather with a circular shape and simple stitching. You can make dozens of these within an hour. The margin will be tenfold of the home pods margin.I’m curious if this is a product they intended to make ahead of the HomePod release, because that was relatively fast, since the article surfaced yesterday.
