The features shown in the screenshots might not make you think a 10.3 upgrade is worth paying for, but not all improvements are visual. For Jaguar, Jobs said there were 129 features for $129 dollars. So without knowing the full feature list and real price, it's too soon to decide whether Panther is "worth the price".

ah thats interesting, thanks for letting me know. yeah it does look odd but who knows, they look pretty damn good to me.Originally posted by Alexander
In European countries, they switch the comma and decimal point around, i.e. 1,234.56 would be written as 1.234,56 . I'll agree that it's a little suspicious that only that one number is formatted like that, but it is pre-preview software.
Dude... you definitely just posted that screenshot for the second time. Not cool. I'm not sure if it was because you didn't get the attention you wanted before, I thought they were funny, but please don't post anything more than once, unless it needs reiteration.Originally posted by jessefoxperry

And hopefully AppleWorks will see some major improvements, and hopefully the rumored accounting SW will be out in some form...

I hope that my ol' 867QS 1.5G RAM can keep up with the new OS. I mean, I won't even think about a hardware up grade until they are 3 times as fast or 3 times the processor power as my current old beast. I will definatly let some others go first before upgrading or doing a clean wipe and install of panther. It looks really cool. Anyone know where piles might have gone?

I think that the censored pics of iChat video-conferencing windows, aside from no picture from a possible lack of camera, that it might be something along the lines of a DVD screen cap, in that when someone attempts to screen cap an iChat videoconference, a "censored" warning appears in the cap.
Just a guess, but it's in line with Apple's minimal DRM. I think it's also illegal to "record" someone without their permission in most states, and maybe a vid cap represents something like that.
The screen shots are real. Period. It's not a Duality theme or anything like that. Many parts of the shown interface don't exist at all, like the new (and very sleek) finder window (the brushed metal hard drive window) (and you said it wasn't Photoshopped...).Originally posted by zigzag
1. Calm down everyone, Panther will run on your systems better than Jaguar ever did.
2. Those screenshots are obviously fake. They look real, because they are not doctored in photoshop (for the most part), instead they are made by hacking a regular jaguar installation.
3. Apple didn't take it down because of the above.
4. This does not feel apple-like at all, who ever did it may have fooled most people, but I am not fooled, and come monday, you will see that, indeed, these screenshots are fake.
