Part II - UDP For Life

That's it! I'm out! I'm done!

I was able to convert this morning my final phone on to a loyalty plan with unlimited data at $45. I put it on eBay today and was able to collect another $100 for it on a buy it now pick. It was awesome!

I was thinking about going back to Apple tonight and I have decided against it. My lines are clear and I don't want to call Verizon anymore. I'm done and had little problems in the process. I consider myself very fortunate in all of it.

I flipped about 25 phones and lines. I was originally going to use the $45 plan for my tablet but maybe in the future I can add it to the family plan that I have if it's available. I don't mind using it as needed for the Internet. Otherwise, I am going to keep my own individual unlimited data on my family plan.

I'll still be lurking and contributing to this forum. I have really enjoyed the community and the "culture" of it. It's been awesome.

All the best to the rest of you on this final evening. It's surreal. I will miss the opportunity, but I am relieved about the hustle of it all. I have four phones left and three of them will be sold tomorrow. The one I am keeping for myself as a sort of trophy is the space grey iPhone 6 plus 16 GB.

When you guys talk about mifi line are you refering to 15$ minute plan or is there a way to get 9.99 removed ?

Hey Jules I need your help, I have a 450NW UDP on Sub Acct.#1 with pay as you go text for 0.25 each

I want to bring that line over to Sub Acct#2 that has the Grandfathered
Any Mobile Talk & Txt Shr 700 for $85

How can I do this because they are trying to charge me $95 instead of $85 supposedly because the plan changed

Isn't it cheaper to just have the line on your family share plan? 29.99 + 9.99 verus 29.99 + $15 is there really any benefit to having it on the loyalty plan?

Think it is time to officially give up. Tried to add a line through Apple using each of the UDP lines and all get the same "cannot be processed" error. Then I tried the 2gb line in the subaccount and no problem at all in adding another ME line. :mad:

$85 is for minutes and texts + $10 line access fee = $95. Then data is on top of that so $125 for a single line Any Mobile T&T FS plan. Add a second UDP line and it comes to $165/mo.

It's $5 cheaper to have it on a FS but some of us have 5 phones on our FS plans so if we want a MiFi too, the $45/mo plan is the cheapest plan.

$15/mo for 30 minutes, no texts and then $29.99/mo for UDP = $44.99/mo

She said it would be $10 more equaling $175

How could I do this, without them switching it?

the benefit is that this is the only way to move them to someone else via AOL. if you don't plan to AOL the line and just want a new line for yourself for a mifi device, then yeah, it makes perfect sense to just add an udp line through apple and not make any other changes.

Thanks for the suggestion! I have that app installed but the lag is atrocious skipping between songs. I have tinkered with the settings, but with no avail. Also, I know I sound lazy (maybe I am) but streaming to my chromecast requires me to manually switch inputs, something DLNA/UPNP does automatically. Do you have a solution for that? Maybe I'm missing a setting?

Quick question:
Does anyone know if you have a google voice number and add it as one of your ten family share numbers, will this essentially allow you to have unlimited minutes, or am I having a stupid moment?

I doubt it will be $10 more. The plan is $105 for 2 lines plus the data plans.

I have the Nationwide Family Share Plan with 700 minutes, 250 texts & UDP. When I select to change my texts I get a red message on the screen saying I must change to a More Everything plan. How are you all changing your text message allotment without loosing UDP?

The 3 people in front of me at the Apple store all had to call core. Looks like everyone is on a mad dash to add more lines today. Or everyone has bad credit? Haha

I tried chat, tier 2 tech and AOL - all get the same error - incompatible with the UDP.

Your guess is as good as anyone else's. Looks like they shut down the $45/mo UDP MHS today so who knows what else will be shut down.

you have to be REALLY nice and persuasive. So I just went on chat and dropped down my 2nd line to $45 plan. How? Well wehn I asked she said "have you heard of the more everything plan?" Me.. Ah yes but not interested. also the line is for an elderly parent (true) that doesn't talk much and only uses the phone for internet. rep "oh ok, so your better off keeping your current plan because of UDP" me.. exactly... re "can I help you with anything else?" me.. can you please add the loyalty code? it makes sense for us since mom doesn't use the phone to talk at all. rep " oh ok, I can do that, you mean for line 1 (the line without a contract and that I use for minutes)" me... no, line 2 please (the original one I asked for that is already on contract so I don't mind the extension). Rep "ok you're all set!"
