You will encounter a lot of "stupid" questions from Ebay. You are not just selling iPhones or Lines only... you are selling "service" too. Most of them don't know how the system works. You really need to explain steps by steps. I bet 90+% of Verizon Customers don't even know about Assumption of Liability process. I was one of them until I discover this thread from SD.

It's not an easy task.

It is not, a lot of hand holding... please see my recent positive feedback on ebay;)... A lot of calls, a lot of emails, texts back and forth. Some of them really really deserved and needed the UDP, some of them, probably did not.

----------

The CDMA radios aren't turned on in the GSM iPhone 5 or 5s. They are turned on in the 6 and 6 Plus. I was using a T-Mobile iPhone 6 on Verizon when I AOLed my first line in, but only after I had activated the SIM card on a Verizon iPhone 5c first. The T-Mobile phone showed up as an "Unknown, Non-VZW" device.

but everything works as it is? does that non-vzw device massage go away?

anyway, let's get back to mac products.
does iphone 5 at&t version can be used on verizon? probably not, if i remember correctly. Not all the bands are there.

I think iphone 6, regardless which version, has all the bands built in. I think Sprint just maintain a list of their devices, if you bring a phone from Verizon, they may just not let you be on the network...

Not exactly. Read under the spec:-

https://www.apple.com/iphone-6/specs/

Verizon Iphone 6 is A1549 6+ is A1522

I wouldn't call either of them "dummy" questions.
Really - you wouldn't call someone a dummy who doesn't understand that if you up the number of minutes and texts on a plan it costs more?

And you wouldn't call someone a dummy who actually knows that Verizon's network is superior to Sprint's but actually thinks you can get a Verizon plan that is the equivalent of the Sprint SERO plan - a plan open only to the families of Sprint employees or Sprint separating employees - for LESS money?

Well I would, lol!!!! These 2 were real dummies in my book.

I mean the SERO guy either used to work for Sprint or was the family member of someone who works for Sprint. The SERO plan is the cheapest plan Sprint offers other than their employee plans. And yet knowing full well Verizon's network was superior he thought you could get a better deal at Verizon.

If you don't call these 2 dummies, then I hate to see how bad the people you do call dummies are, lol!

I read it but you missed my point which was the largest group of people who want these don't use them for mobile hot spots at all - they are used to replace your home internet.

Your original point seemed to be that people may use the MHS as their only home internet IF they have no wired option.

"The $45/mo UDP MHS is meant to replace your home internet. It is particularly valuable to those people in rural areas who do not have the option of wired internet."

I have no idea why someone who has the option of wired cable internet would use a MHS. Charter 50/4 cable here costs $50/month. Would someone who has the option of cable internet use the MHS to save $5 for a slower connection? Also, as you have pointed out before, the UDP may disappear in the future. There is no guarantee here.

Are you referring to people who can get DSL as their only option?

My LTE gets faster up & down speeds than xfinity cable and is about $15 less per month AND I can take it to any of my 3 homes and multiple warehouses plus in my rigs on the road all on one account (even though I have several UDP's)

That sounds mobile to me.

Very location dependent. At home, I get 25mb down with Verizon LTE, and 50mbit down with my cable.

Many places, I get 50mbit down all day long, some places even up to 80mbit down. If i had 80mbit down on verizon, you can bet your ass I'd be canceling my time warner cable internet.

I think the first poster was asking you how many minutes were included in the $45 plan, and how much it would cost to get unlimited. Since the $45 plan isn't advertised, it conceivably could have been something like a SERO or friends-and-family plan.

Also, I do think Verizon will face some pricing pressure on voice plans in the coming years. The other carriers have improved their networks quite a bit and have LTE pretty much everywhere where it matters. AT&T has spectrum constraints, but carrier aggregation is helping them alleviate that. T-Mobile has gobs of capacity, and even Sprint is finally coming around the corner.

But for $5 less you get home Internet and a SIM card that can be popped into a tablet when you leave the house. And although you may get WiFi everywhere you go, not everyone does.

Anyone want to move to kennesaw?? Nice people there.
They sure treat red people well....
How do we ensure we get kennesaw - call during the day eastern time?

Everything works as is, but that non-VZW message does not go away. You can't use a T-Mobile or AT&T iPhone 6 to activate a VZW line. But you can take an active VZW nano-SIM and use it in any unlocked iPhone 6 or 6 Plus.

Note that AT&T (and I'm guessing T-Mobile) will "whitelist" a Verizon iPhone 6, which is a change. While the Verizon iPhone 5s worked just fine on AT&T, it showed up on their system as an "unknown" device. The Verizon iPhone 6 shows up as an iPhone 6 on AT&T's system. AT&T even offered to sell me insurance on my "T-Mobile" iPhone 6.

yes so true it varies widely but all in all I cancelled 3 cable accounts, 2 dsl accounts (2 more soon to close) and run all on my JetPack (add a Wilson 4G base antenna and your reception / speed will optimize)

I'm so glad to tell cable to blow off

I still have FIOS at one location and it rocks so I'll keep that it's like a T3 on steroids!!!

Here's another example:

Dummy: So if this plan has a 2 year contract, why would anyone want it - why don't they just get one from Verizon and get a free phone?

Me: The UDPs aren't available from Verizon anymore.

Dummy: But you would have to pay for this line for 2 years.

Me: Yes and actually that is considered a good thing since you can't get UDP any longer from Verizon and if Verizon decides to do away with UDP altogether they would likely drop it from those off contract and let those on contract keep it at least until the end of the 2 year contract. And if they didn't, they would have to let you out of the contract without paying an ETF. Also if you take this line you can add more UDP lines to it at apple.com and then you could get a subsidized iPhone and give the UDP line away for free like I am doing. If you could give that 2nd UDP line away to someone, it would be the same as getting a new UDP directly from Verizon - you would get the subsidized phone and only have 1 line with a 2 year contract. These lines aren't that difficult to give away.

Dummy: I don't want to be on contract though.

Me: Well then this plan is not for you.

Dummy: Do you think I can find this same plan but off contract?

Me: Idk. Good luck to you!

Dummy: Where do you think I should look for one?

Me: Idk. Good luck to you!

Dummy apparently tries to find a UDP off contract and can't and comes back to me and makes me an "offer".

Dummy: I have been researching this and I think you should pay me $200 to take the line since I would be taking over the contract and saving you the $350 etf. That still saves you $150.

Me: No thank you. Lots of people want these lines as they are no longer offered by Verizon and the contract actually protects you somewhat from having UDP taken away from you. And once you have a line you can make more on apple.com and get the subsidized phone and give away the second UDP line to someone else. I only have 1 line left to give away.

Dummy: Well I am not taking it unless you pay me.

Me: Just gave my last one away so no more to give out today anyhow. Good luck to you!

HAHAHA I had someone arguing with me about Verizon capping people, and that this isn't unlimited and that you couldn't get unlimited anymore. I showed him a screenshot of my accounts that shut him up really quickly.

I did get 2 AOL's through today but they were initiated last night at 8:44 pm

CSR's say it's all over and my last guy was the last AOL of UDP ever to be done (CSR'a say lots of stuff)

it was Georgia btw

Can anybody confirm that add a new UDP line to FS 700 on apple.com is still working?

It is i just added a line and now I need to sell my 16gb iphone space gray. I hope I can use the extra line with my hot spot that I got for $14 and xlte/lte and my ipad mini redina.

Does that mean the system allows it?

they said mine only went through because I initiated them before the cutoff last night

That does not make sense you give an authorization last night but i guess person did not call in until today. This would mean that we can authorize transfers now ?

I don't think authorizing is a problem. It's processing for the recipient that should have issues. If they let you process it for the recipient then it "works". But mark said the csr's were trying their best to make it work and it didn't.
