Wait, what? Did he add a UDP line at apple.com?

Yes from apple.com. Hence don't sell the phone until you clear the line. And when you AOL the line make sure seller gets UDP before getting rid of your phone. I'm thinking it's a computer glitch that can be easily cleared by returning the phone. It's going to be a PIA if you no longer have the phone.

He must have done something though to lose UDP. No one else has reported this happening.

He purchased the line with the intention of selling. He has done a couple lines already and they all went smoothly. He had just purchased the line two days prior. The next day he checked and the udp was gone. It caught me by surprise too. Beside what do you have to loose by holding on to the phone for a few days.

actually few people lose UDP while accepting AOL. that's why I remind them to tell CSR don't change anything on the plan especially the data plan ;). They can change minutes & text after AOL was successful.

CSR even tried to pull fast one on me while transferring AOL to wife acct. If you get that CSR, simply cancel and try different CSR.

I had to stop by a Verizon store to pick up a sim to do my AOL today, and the rep there said I would definitely lose unlimited data if I did an AOL. I told him that customer care told me I could keep it over the phone (I never actually called them to ask this). He seemed surprised by this but when I called the AOL department they didn't bat an eye at the unlimited data on the plan.

There is no bigger waste of your time than to discuss a UDP line with a Verizon corporate in-store rep. They are:

a) stupid;
b) evil; and
c) really stupid and evil.

that's so funny (and true) I was just thinking the exact same thing

The only CSR's dumber than the store reps are the night shift AOL team

Unfortunately the closest Verizon stores to my house are all corporate. I would have gone further out of my way to get a sim from an authorized reseller without the hassle, but I was in a time crunch and needed one ASAP.

At first the rep told me I had to wait in line, then he told me I was going to lose unlimited data by doing the AoL. When I told him customer service told me I could keep it, he said I had to get a sim through them by mail, because the only way he could give me a sim was if he did the AoL in store and he wouldn't honor the unlimited data.

I must have looked pretty heartbroken at that point, because finally he said, "This is for an iPhone, right?" I pulled out my used Droid DNA and said, "No, it's for this phone."

He looked at the phone and said, "Oh, I can give you a sim for THAT." He then pulled one out of his pocket and waved me on my way.

Thanks, Verizon.

Doesn't surprise me. As it is I don't see a reason for me to go to a corporate Verizon store anytime in the near future.

Yes you can use a cc

Just installed my Verizon UDP sim in my T-Mobile iPad. Boom, connected and works as a mobile hotspot. Tethering from my iPad right now.

it goes both ways.
i sold the phone, then the UDP. Few days later, the person who bought the phone wanted to return. I almost **** my pants. Even if I return the phone back to apple, what is going to happen to the line I just sold?

Luckily for me, the buyer said nothing is wrong with the phone. He wanted a 6+, when he bid on a 6. I told him.... sorry no go my friend.

I hate sales people in general. I was at one of the authorized resellers selling my old Galaxy S5. Tried talking to him about the Nexus announced that day. He knew nothing, said we didn't get the 5 so not getting the 6. Then he said the Note 3 was a newer phone then the S5 and had better features. I hate knowing more then the people trying to doup me.

Oh, wow I didn't think about that. I don't think they would cancel someone else's line though.

What's the best place/way to buy a used Verizon dumb phone?
idk the best place but if you put a dumbphone on an UDP line, you will lose UDP and not be able to get it back.

On slick deals people are saying that they aren't getting the option to add a UDP any longer. I ordered last night so I can't try it. Can someone else try it and see if it still works?

They are saying "I got to the last page and it says you are no longer available for this rate plan. I didn't have this problem before"

I'm still able to place an order just fine

What's the link to the SD thread?

Just placed this order. Now, this order will be cancelled, because all of mine are, but, the UDP is still an option, and still goes through. Maybe there was a glitch when those posters tried.
