The PayPal app on iOS does LESS than just going to their website. I downloaded it and tried out all its features. It's a joke. I don't know why they waste their time with it. The website is mobile optimized and works perfectly.
They might as well dump the iOS app too while they're at it. I deleted mine.

It does notifications.

That's all I need from them until I can delete my account.

Apple Pay is what people want.

I get the logic behind the Nokia deal, they needed a company with the expertise they were lacking
No real lack of expertise. I understand the problem they had is with internal politics and mismanagement.

Apple Pay is what people want.

Maybe people with Apple Watches.

Card RFID is where it's at, if implemented properly.

Seeing your post kind of reminds me of those scenes in the movies when everyone's telling the guy the girls no good but he can't see it, won't leave and believes she will change lol
That's my relationship with windows phone summed up.

The fact you actually liked Windows and was forced to abandon WPOS says alot.

I'm still going to hold out this year for the surface phone if it is not released or lackluster I'll jump ship *sigh*.
I started making the app when it was getting around 10% of the market share. I liked its price and how efficient and I thought at the time it would take on Android big time. I kept working on the project as a side project and then when the share did a dip, I knew I was coding a dead OS as I asked people around ad they said it was awful

I don't think Windows 10 Mobile is dead just yet. Plenty of better manufacturers of phones than Microsoft.

Plenty of?

Windows Phone is primarily made up of phones from Microsoft... and Windows Phone only had 0.7% market share last quarter.

Who are these "plenty" of manufacturers?

We all know market share is in the basement, but there are still plenty of companies making Windows Phone 10 devices.
Most have released new models within the past 4-5 months.
No real flagships outside of the Lumia line though.

Current list:
Acer
Alcatel
Archos
HP
Panasonic
VAIO
Xiaomi

Then there the "lesser known" manufacturers:
Bluebird
Bush
Coship
Covia
Diginnos
Freetel
Funker
Pipo
Trinity
Yamada

Seems like fire sale prices on 950's are coming.
Well, if current Windows Phone price drops below 100 AUD, I would like to buy one as a toy or secondary phone.
4G support could let this phone last long enough until it is dead.

I love to laugh in the face of the Blackberry fans. The only reason that phone was every good was the BBM (talk about a killer app).

I can't believe it was priced similar to the iphone. Apps that look like they were built for a nokia phone, constant restarting, dying batteries within a year, unable to even play a YouTube video, 1990's OS. Good bye BB.

You must be talking old stuff. I never used one until BB10.

now if they could let me log into the paypal ios app with 2-factor enabled I'd be a happy clam

I guess my confusion was the use of the word "plenty"

From your list I see 7 majors... 10 minors... and of course big-boy Microsoft. Let's round it off and say there are roughly 20 Windows Phone manufacturers.

Is "plenty" still an appropriate word compared to the 200 Android manufacturers? :D

Do I have to add anything?

Paypal is a ****** company with shady business practices and likes to scew over its customers. This company needs to die!

A lot of those are traditional merchant account problems. No one bothers to read their terms when they sign up and accept money. What do you expect? Any bank or credit card processor is going to have some level of friction to avoid fraud loss and anti money laundering.

Blu, LG, Moly, Alcatel, Acer, and Huawei, just to name a few. As the OS continues to evolve like it is, so will the manufacturers. As mentioned in a post above, there are plenty. There's really no need at all for 200~ like on Android as you claimed (even though most of those are just resellers of generic, unbranded phones).

The windows phone platform is dead as a door nail.
I've always wondered what it was that was so particularly dead about a door-nail. I would, myself, be inclined to regard a coffin-nail as the deadest piece of ironmongery in the trade.

Seriously. How dare anyone pioneer an industry Apple would later ride to becoming the most valuable company on earth? The very nerve of Blackberry ever to have existed at all.

The reason it was "popular" is two parts. The corporate world loved it for it's security. It was pretty much the go-to device for corporations. Corporate users didn't care about YouTube. They wanted a rock solid email experience and the support mechanism behind it.
Worth every penny at the time.

The consumer side was two fold... BBM and a great keyboard.
Apps sucked, but then again, it wasn't really designed for the consumer market. This is why they eventually failed.

People don't even know BlackBerry has a new platform and also slab phones since some years ago, much less that they can run a lot of Android apps too. There is where they failed.

Well if you consider 2011 is old then yes, but it was the time when iphone 4 was out which was not very different from what is available today.

Please lookup Apple Newton

I wouldn't disagree with you. They did email good, but selling me an email sending device for the same price of an iphone4 I just don't know what to say. Of course we all know where clinging on to their "email+keyboard" niche got them.

It was a great 90's/early 2000's device. In The age of HD streaming... it just doesn't work.

So, Microsoft move officially announce the end of mobile war. There will only be two mobile operating systems on market for quite a while: Android with all its variants, and, iOS.

Don't worry. Consumers will find plenty of competition from having a duopoly in the marketplace.

..."Duopoly"... why does that term sound so familiar?...
