I may have to wait, but I'm saving quite a bit of money - $1919 plus tax for the BTO 15" 1.67GHz (added 128 VRAM), which is $2399 retail. With tax, it comes to about $2085, so I'm still saving over $300. I'll just keep waiting...

Let's pelt em with smelly poo!
Let's hope so. I doubt they'll notify us if they do expect them to ship earlier - they'll probably just ship them and let us get all excited that we didn't have to wait quite so long after all.ColoJohnBoy said:Estimated shipping time for the 15" SuperDrive model has ben changed from 7-10 days to 5-7 days. Shouldn't it follow that Apple shortens the wait time on existing orders, instead of (as they are) lengthening them?

Getting frustrated!
Kwyjibo said:overnight means that it will come the next day after it ships, not that it will ship the day you order and arrive tomorrow. It is also probably 1 day after it enters the US so keep all of that in mind.
No, they do it here in the US too. You can only get it through the education store, and it's not offered all the time - they usually have it going at the beginning of the school year (Sep/Oct).ColoJohnBoy said:inlimbo, is that Cram and Jam offer only in Australia? I don't recall seeing it as an option when I bought my PowerBook. Otherwise, I would have sprung for the 40 GB iPod Photo!
Also, my estimated shipping date is still February 28, 2005; I ordered on the 5th. Boo. I want PowerBook NOW!

I rang the Apple store and the guy said I was the first customer of the day. Yes thats right the first customer in Australia to order the brand new PB!!!!!!!! 😱 I ordered on the 02/01/2005 so effectively by the time I get it will be 31 days since I ordered it!!!!! Thats 23 working days. Initially in said 7-10 working days.
This is my first apple computer and its so far not being a joyous experience. 🙁
If there is something wrong with my PB when I get it im going to go Ape s***!
bryng said:Mmmm ... I ordered the same config via Apple Australia on 2/2/05 and I haven't seen any sign of movement either, nor I have seen any posts (either here or elsewhere) from people in Australia who have successfully received their BTO.
Is it possible that Apple has decided to ignore Australian orders completely until they have dealt with their supply issues elsewhere? That being the case, their Australian advertising would have been very disingenuous since the new machines' release ... 😡

Estimated delivery date Feb 18, 2005, via FedEx
I'm STOKED, yesterday it said "on or before 2/22/05".
Can't wait... YEEEEEEEEESSSSSSS! Thanks Apple!
