PB Shipping Woes?

Ugh. Now that the estimated shipping time for the 15" is 4-6 business days (If it's at all accurate) I'm wondering if I cancelled my current order and re-ordered now if I wouldn't get the re-order sooner than the original.

Let me do some quick math:
Mine was initially 7-10 working days which now turns out to be 23 working days.
So the 4-6 business days u have been quoted in actual fact means 14 working days. 😛

Im thinking of cancelling my order and getting the 17inch and upgrading the RAM myself. But i dont think I can cancel now. I think its too late. 🙁

It's through an Apple reseller, so I don't even get an ETA ... 🙁

Joy. I may not have a computer for another two weeks, but I will have a 1 GB SO-DIMM to play with after tomorrow. Newegg.com just shipped the Kingston RAM I purchased for $180. Mac-compatible, lifetime warranty and everything.

I ordered a PowerBook G4 15" 1.67 GHz through work on salary sacrifice and it took 4 or 5 working days for it to be delivered to our Sydney office, the problem for me is I live in Melbourne which is 900 KMs south! Hopefully it turns up today or Monday.

I ordered the exact same configuration. On the 5th. When does mine ship?

My 17 inch PB was FINALLY delivered... Bummer is... I'm stuck in Denver at the NBA All Star game waiting in the back of a TV truck... All I have to play with is my TREO 650 and my IBM thinkpad. What a bummer...

My boyfriend and I have tickets to the games on Saturday and Sunday (I'm primarily interested in Destiny's Child, but I suppose the other stuff might be interesting as well.) Holy hell.

I think all bad feelings I've held the past couple weeks regarding Apple have completely dissipated. I just checked FedEx tracking, and the PowerBook that only shipped earlier today is set to arrive here by 3:00 p.m. tomorrow!!!

Shipping delays here to. I am in the UK, ordered a load of kit through my local Apple Centre, they said today that all the PowerBooks with a Superdrive in are delayed, and Apple can't tell them how long for. It looks like the same is true for the minis too, had one from them but my second with a superdrive is nowhere to be seen. And they can't track my order either.

I'm probably luckier than most in that my Powerbook shipped this time last week, and its STILL not in the Netherlands for onward shipping to the UK. Apparently it's due to be here by Friday - two FULL weeks after it shipped 😡

everything ive ordered from Apple has been lightning fast in delivery. my iPod took mere days and my Powerbook just 1 week, and i ordered the same day Rev D was unleashed. and i live in the UK

My BTO 15" PB was shipped yesterday occording to Apple's (Australian) Order Status page! The Order Status Page was down all day yesterday so I figure they must have got in a shipment of PBs and/or Shuffles. So hopefully every in Australia and New Zealand will get their PBs today or tomorrow.

I have to say, the clunking noise people have complained about with the HD really isn't as loud as I expected. It is not dissimilar in volume to the "click" made by the iBook G3 800 I upgraded from.

But still, a very nice machine. The screen in particular is miraculous if you sit it next to the iBook ...

No dead pixels, which was a nice touch. 🙂

The trackpad seemed a little slow at first, but I think that was just me coming from a 12" screen where there really isn't much effort needed to move a cursor anywhere.

I initially turned the speed up. I have since turned the speed back down to a sensible level that doesn't see me overshooting everything.

The trackpad button was a little sticky at first, but has worked itself to a nicely loose state after just a couple of hours of use.

Here we go again.

So I got my 1.67 PB 15" SD last week.
And I had a nerve racking time waiting for it. Was all over the rumors sites, and officially had it in my hands... thus completing the madness that consumed me as I anxiously awaited.

So now I'm back to where I started...
or rather... am not starting. My new powerbook crashed tonight, and upon starting it up, I get three beeps, and the sleep light goes on. I've seen this on other sites, and was able to successfully power it up after a few (15) tries later on, only to have to problem repeat.

Called Apple. They filed a dispatch and I'm sending it in for repair.
Here we go again. So I've reverted back to the iMac G4... but now I get to fight my family for it.

Incidentally, if anyone has any feedback on this issue... please PM me. I would like to know whats going on.

So I got my 1.67 PB 15" SD last week...

Feel your pain. After ordering on the first day, within the first couple hours, I finally received mine on the 18th of feb. Got to play with it about 2 hours, not even. Wouldn't read my airport extreme card, wouldn't read my USB ports. Flashed out every now and then. Mine was going through the same type of stuff, just a total eclipse. What they told me they had to do was replace the PMU (power mgt unit). So, mine recently made the trek cross country (I had the surgeons at the Genius Bar handle the return), and it awaiting it's turn into the ER. I'll probably get it back some time next week. 😕

Round and round we go. Somebody please quit putting quarters into the merry-go-round. I want this ride to stop. 🙁
