Apple Watch is water resistant.No.
Water resistance
Coming back to this one.longer battery life
Reminds me of the "physical keyboard" argumentmore physical buttons
But it's E-Ink....always-on display
So then you should have no issue charging the Apple Watch.2 day charging isn't so bad. I charge my devices every night
I like to root for the underdog, but what Pebble is up against is pretty well insurmountable. Kudos to them for some great products (I really like their 'Time' and 'Time Steel'), but when the time comes for me to join the wearables evolution, I'm leaning towards HomeKit compatibility and quantity of quality Apps.No one is interested in their technology. All of the large ones that you mention have superior experience with consumer and mobile technology. It would be easy for them to reverse engineer a Pebble and make one and subsequently improve it and sell it cheaper.
Pebble is a classic example of a company that has failed to sustain its first mover advantage and create a real sustainable competitive advantage.
You can read about my experience with it on my site, http://SatanSam.co.uk/blog or read my posts in the "why I took my AW back" thread on this site. And we’re, like, just supposed to believe you?
My Pebbles water resistance is about 49.5m more than Apple's. I'm happy to wait for confirmed 50m resistance by Apple themselves. I don't want to risk it really.Apple Watch is water resistant. Coming back to this one. Reminds me of the "physical keyboard" argument But it's E-Ink....

Well the pebble round isn't water resistant.No.
Water resistance, longer battery life, more physical buttons, always-on display is what Pebble has over the Apple Watch. I find the Pebble to be a much better time keeping device due to those points. But I found the Apple Watch to be great in other ways (like messaging from the device, taking calls, more apps).
2 day charging isn't so bad. I charge my devices every night but in case I forget to do so it's nice to know I can still get another day out of the new Pebble.
I'd rather not risk my (at the time) £520 watch with chlorine and sea water. It's fine that you do, but I'd prefer to wait for a few more generations until it's 50m water resistent.I swim with my Apple Watch every morning and have done so since June. So you can scratch that off your list.
Auto-correct can be soooo cute sometimes..........Any self respecting VC or investor would leak twice before putting money in this company
Haha. Good one, like itAuto-correct can be soooo cute sometimes.....![]()
Perhaps. The bezel doesn't bother me. I skipped the Pebble Steel and Time because they didn't interest me/do much more than my original Pebble. The only thing holding me back is 1) how will Pebble compete with Apples excellent communication/social tech in the AW and 2) a 2 day battery life is a bit sucky. Coming from my 7 day original Pebble at least.I really like my plain old Pebble watch and the company was quite cooperative replacing my original kickstarter edition when the screen started to fail. I use the watch for work and I am a fan of it. That said, this round version, although sleek for a smart watch, is a total step backwards for the company. It looks like they went more with design over function. That bezel, to me, shows that the company may have had difficulty designing a larger, round screen and they thought that no one would notice. I would think by now they would have solved the bezel issue from the original Pebble and what's with the 2 day battery life? It looks like they rushed this one.
I know! Does keep me from getting one. I think my original Kickstarter Pebble is safe for some time.Well the pebble round isn't water resistant.
Thai is using the GPS.Wow, that is actually a really nice watch, albeit a bit large for smaller wrists. I also did not see any possibility to connect to en iPhone or Android device for notifications etc.
The battery life is on the site as 50 hours (GPS off, otherwise 16 hours), which in my book is 2 days though and not nearly a week.
Thanks - what's the bandwidth required to play this back - I have insane pipe at work and it stutters badly

The more I wear my Apple Watch, the better I understand it's rectangular shape. Sure, it' reads easier, but the design enhances the shape of our arms. The wrist is round, but the arm is long (rectangular) and flat which is why a rectangular watch looks much nicer on someone who wears short sleeve shirts - sure, the round is nice and it's a personal choice in the end, but the rectangular matches our body shape. Pebble looks like a toy and there is nothing professional or flattering about it. Usefulness; perhaps so.. Style and usefulness is why apple is selling so many watches.
No.

It works with an iPhone -- that brings it into the fold."I thought this was MACrumors, not Pebble Rumors!"
Wow, we all thought the Apple Watch might stand out for being the only round watch in a market filled with squares. Now it looks to be the other way around. Every new competing smartwatch seems to be round!
Funny, I still wear original pebble. Daily people in coffee shops or at cash register ask me if its the new Apple watch. Ha.
Guy is a millionaire from selling smart watches, and bunch of keyboard-mashers on Macrumors ridicule him. Personally I admire what he achieved via the most seccussful and second most successful Kitchstater campaigns ever. He's going to have a hard time competing in this market long term given the competition, but he can always lay claim to helping get smartwatches as a category off the ground. Let's see any one of you who ridicule him achieve half as much in your lifetime.
