Hmmmm.. I don't know whether to be happy or sad. I just got my new beautiful 24' iMac a month ago and it might be obsolete in a few hours...

I know :(

Ive got a 9 day old mini - hoping for an update today so I can go take it back at the weekend and swap it :)

Its been opened though so may have a fight on my hands to do that!

The staff at the Bullring Apple Store told me I had 14 days to try my mini when I bought it last year.
They said if I changed my mind (I was unsure whether to get an iMac instead), bring it back within 14 days and they would change it.

Thanks - useful info

apple.com/uk (then store) still up for me
as well as german and swiss store still up, they better take all down within the next 30 min, otherwise i doubt there will be something big 2day.

Sorry guys i must have wandered on to the US store by mistake :(

chipsets chipsets chipsets, id rather see more hardware revisions, i gues if you want something done right you gotta do it yourself. starting tommarrow im going to be making my own oragami mac casses, every one will be one of a kind masterpiece expressing the innocince of amateur folds and trully instinctual angles.

Mac store down

I just checked the apple store canada and it posts their standard flag screen indicating that the site is being updated. can't wait to see what steve is bringing.:)

It won't be obsolete. It's just that everyone who is buying now wants to make sure they get the latest update. When you know it's coming, you don't want to get the existing hardware.

I remember getting a new mac a few years back. The glow quickly faded when I noticed that, despite the increased spec, I couldn't notice a real big difference in overall performance. It wasn't until I did a video render in Final Cut that I saw the huge increase in power. The day-to-day stuff stays similar.
