People listening to stuff (or on speakerphone) in public drives me nuts. If it were up to me, other than the little speaker needed for calls when the phone is to your ear, I say do away with the speakers altogether! :p

Oh, and stay off my damned lawn!
I agree, but I remember the boom boxes guys would carry on their shoulder.
Funny how you can recognize horrible trends at the time and years later get to gloat you were right. 🤭

I see your point but your propaganda has to be stronger than the other guy's propaganda.

And MKBHD is borderline an Apple employee, so the sting is extra potent.
Maybe he could be a borderline Apple employee. If you were in his position, wouldn’t you be diplomatic about the products you reviewed from a multi trillion dollar company that gave you invites and early access to products. He is running a big business of his own at this point. He’s not gonna make silly business decisions because some of you don’t think he’s objective enough.

The Air is an iP X moment for me, transitioning from the regular 6/7/8. As much as I like it a lot, I'm probably gonna wait for 2nd/3rd gen and stick with base 17/ 17 Pro this year (I'm coming from a 14 Pro).
in terms of design change it might feel like that but it's not that drastic.

the X was a combination of the UX change and a major redesign of how the phone was interacted with.

I'd save this comparison the future iPhone that is going to be portless, all glass, under screen camera and FaceID.

Air is more like a design study - just like MB Air when it first launched.

I had the regular iPhone 6, not the Plus, but I was stunned when I fist picked it up. It felt like one of those non-working display models a carriers sometimes had. It didn’t seem possible it could be that light and still do all of the things an iPhone does. I thought it was amazing!

I actually read a post the other day saying that was the worst iPhone ever because of antenna lines.
I really did lol. I guess many of us appreciate the technology and others want to show off jewelry to their friends. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Well, yeah, the iPhone 6 was just 129g.

I switched to the 6 after I got fed up with the size and weight of my launch-day 6+.

What MKBHD said wasn’t that harsh tbh, I’ve seen the YouTube video after the hands on at the Apple event. Not as bad as some people are making out.

He said “it might be a hard sell” also “once people see it and hold it, it’ll convince a lot of people to buy it” & “it may be the future of phones”

Time will tell. None are available on the Apple Store app here in the UK for launch day delivery now. 7-10 days or 2-3 weeks depending on your configuration.
He also made a video asking who asked for the 16e, which I’ve frankly loved. He’s a brochure/spec obsessed content creator, as are the majority of YouTubers. Practicality is lost on a lot of these reviewers and I wouldn’t expect much positivity from that corner of the internet.

To me the Air is literally the best iphone released since the Xs. First time I have been excited for a new iphone since then. I just hope the Air isn't too big for my hands. If it is hopefully the Air is the future of iphones so hopefully we will see a 6.1"-ish size in the future.

I just watched his 16e video and I actually quite agree with it (except I’m not a fan of 3rd party refurbs). The 16e is too expensive at $600.

With that said, once the no trade-in required carrier and prepaid deals started popping up, I started liking the 16e a lot more.

The irony of attacking MKBHD.

Maybe the fact he gets so many views and subs is that a lot of people agree with his view? Nah, it's gotta be because everyone is brainwashed by him.

Hey there!
I remember you from previous years - are you getting a 17 this year ?
We have been around these forums for a few years already 😀

I don't plan to upgrade past my iPhone 4 Pro for a few years; I find it boring these days, but I feels my needs well.
My wife didn't want to upgrade from her iPhone 13 Pro, but I purchased the 15 Pro and gave it to her as a present over a year ago. She put her camera away and switched to the iPhone to take very nice photos.

I think MKBDH is a good thorough reviewer. It's just unrealistic to approach reviewers as though they are unbiased. They are there to dissect specs and test it for their own usage patterns. Take that and apply it to your own needs. I don't think the Air will review well simply because it's not a spec monster but has the price tag of one. I'm sure there will be plenty of people that love it but that will largely be based on how it feels and how it fits a certain type of user. I think a video I came across that explains this type of person well is from GregsGadgets (Why I bought the iPhone Air over the iPhone 17 Pro).

It doesn't need to be a spec monster. If it's a solid product, he gives it a solid review. The iPhone 11 was a huge upgrade over the XR and price was cut by $50.

We’ll see, I’m not expecting a ton of praises from him considering the price (especially with the upgraded 17 and even android counterparts like the s25 edge). Unless there are real flaws /issues with a product, he’s not affecting my decisions anyway.

I'm not expecting it either because it is what it is, especially at $999. Maybe if it started at $849 with 128GB.
