Can't believe how many posts I see who are returning perfectly good Ipads for the smallest of reasons.

Thing is once you use the Ipad you don't notice the colour difference. All you are doing is opening new Ipads and wasting them and no doubt will be back on the market as refurbs in a few months.

The colour tint isn't a fault it's been common since the 3GS > 4 change the screen looks warmer.

Sounds like you're just trying to justify not returning your defective ipad.

People are entitled to return as many as they see fit.

I've just returned my second defective ipad and happily received a refund.

The first defective iPad had a green tint to the center of it's screen, a pink tint to the rest of the screen, and a speck of dust under the glass.

The second defective ipad (a replacement for the first) had two dust specks under the glass.

Argos (in the UK) were happy to refund me £399 after seeing the problem.

The most concerning aspect of this to me is how these two defective ipads managed to pass quality control with these problems. They should never have left the factory in the condition they were in.

I'm now £399 better off, however, my faith in Apple has taken a severe knock.

I have not had any issues with my iPads. Other things, yes and they have replaced or fixed(bad DVD drive, and a smart cover). But I am glad that Apple takes care of those that have had issues. It makes me want to buy their products even more, because I feel they care about the customer, and will make it right if there is an issue. Yes we pay a premium for their products, but would rather do that and be able to get help if there is an issue, than pay less and not have as great of customer service.

Also I think the percentages of issues is alot lower than what it seems like on forums like these. Where people come to get help/advice with their issues.

i'm gonna get it from the fanboys but here goes...
if more people would just return the bad ones and not change them out them perhaps the quality control would get better and these units wouldn't hit the market

edit: then again what percentage are actually bad? every manufacturer allows a certain amount and we're already talking about millions hitting the streets

My recent success at getting a defective ipad has been 100%. Twice.

I should add that I have been using an ipod touch, 13'' macbook pro and an iphone 4s every day without any problems at all, however, my recent experience with the ipad quality control isn't that great.

LOL. I find your definition of defect rather subjective and anything not to your liking will by default lead to diagnosis of OCD. And again, the 'real defect' on its own is subjective. Something that is fine with others might not be fine to you, like how we think it's ok to return an iPad with a dead/stuck pixel (deemed defective by some users) which you seem to think is not ok!

I do not seem to be alone in my thinking, nor do you.

Try to get over it as I could care less what you think. This is a forum and like our government it is very polarized as our opinions on this. Try to live with that as it is life.:p

And it pissed you off because?? .

If they have a perfect product i am sure they wouldnt return or have it replaced. Everyone have their own standard, expectation and tolerance level of imperfection.

Even Apple itself have the 14 days no question ask return policy. Apple is a smart company i am sure they weight in the pro and cons for that decission.

The question is how these people returning their goods affecting you? I just dont get why you so irritated by that

LOL! I am far from pissed off. I find this whole thing rather amusing. I work for a living and do not live on these forums like many of you. I rather enjoy reading about the misery of the poor sheep here.

One measly pixel...that you can't even see on a retina display..is not a good reason for returning something.

A dead pixel is a bit of information that I'm not receiving. That's my standard, you have yours. People are different. Deal with it.

One pixel though?

ONE 1 (2/2) I

I can't get my head around how this could bother anyone...stop obsessing over things and enjoy life.

I have a degree in graphic design. The requirement of every available pixel is ingrained in my being.

Yes the pixel problem one which seems in a small minority by all means return.

But Apple should limit it to 3 returns then say forget it refund or pick another product.

What does it matter if they allow X number of returns? If this were truly impacting their bottom line in any significant way they would change the policy. For the public to have the perception that Apple will go above and beyond is worth far more than how ever many dollars they lose on returned items. I don't think Apple needs anyone here looking out for their best interests.

My experience with them has been similar. Generous and willing to do whatever it takes to fix the problem.

I'm a legal secretary but I don't use my phone voice when talking to family and friends... Don't let your job/education define you.

I do use iPad for visually creative purposes. I also enjoy having iPads without dead pixels. You can't convince me otherwise.

Can't wait for the iPad 4 (or what ever they're going to call it).

You never cease to amuse me with your contradictory opinion. If you could care less, why do you bother replying or even try to judge those who need to return their ipad? I should be saying c'est la vie to you. ;)

You could have fooled me with that statement....
