You never cease to amuse me with your contradictory opinion. If you could care less, why do you bother replying or even try to judge those who need to return their ipad? I should be saying c'est la vie to you.![]()
You could have fooled me with that statement....![]()
i'm gonna get it from the fanboys but here goes...
if more people would just return the bad ones and not change them out them perhaps the quality control would get better and these units wouldn't hit the market
edit: then again what percentage are actually bad? every manufacturer allows a certain amount and we're already talking about millions hitting the streets
Even so, it's going to be a very minuscule dot at the very most..how can that bother you?! It's like having dust/dirt on the screen, who cares![]()
some people just love to nitpick the smallest things.
OCD...?! What an idiotic statement whoever said that.
So let me get this straight... Apple goes out of its way to try and encourage people who already have a perfectly good Ipad 1 or Ipad 2 to spend almost a thousand dollars and upgrade to the 'best tablet display on the market' and then when they get home and find out the screen is half yellow, or half pink, or half something else, they're supposed to be okay with it? Or not complain? Nevermind that in all the ipad commercials playing around the clock on TV the retina display is perfectly white.
In my opinion, all these people claiming OCD, etc. either have one of the rare perfect units out there, are under 20/or very dumb and only use the ipad for video games and looking at pictures, or don't even have one and have such a sad life they troll the macrumor forums looking for threads to hang out in.
I read a lot, that's about all I use my ipad for. So when I just went from a perfectly uniform screen, with perfect whites on my ipad 1, where the screen or any kind of issue with it, never crossed my mind in two years... to getting one where now when I read my eyes are drawn to the darker colorations/hues in the corners of the ipad... that's not supposed to bother me?
Yes the pixel problem one which seems in a small minority by all means return.
But Apple should limit it to 3 returns then say forget it refund or pick another product.
From your post I'll ask....which side are you defending.
For those claiming OCD....if you have returned more that 3 times you have OCD if you reach 7 you need to be medicated.
Oh, and why would anyone leave the Apple store without confirming its perfect. I just dont understand why more that 1 return is even needed unless you are doing this via mail.

What's your cutt off? 2? 3? 4? I mean what's 10 pixels? It still works as a tablet right?
It's not a "feeling of entitlement". The store policy allows returns and its Apple's decision as to what conditions they apply. Best Buy has an even more generous policy now (30 days). This was not mandated by the government. Your use of the word "entitlement" is suspicious and reeks of some type of political philosophy (gee, what could it be?)
Someone expecting an iPad for free would be a feeling of "entitlement". Someone expecting a fully functioning product that they paid full price for is not.
how about something that actually is noticeable? not a little tiny speck that is worth the hassle of getting in your car, driving up to the nearest apple retailer, waiting for help and whining to someone to get a brand new device and then wait even longer for the new device to get to your house.
As someone who formerly worked Apple Retail, I have no problem with people desiring the perfection that Apple themselves promotes in their Marketing. Apple is all about the details and as a result many of their fans tend to be quite a discerning bunch.
My only issue is when people are dicks about it. Entitlement comes with the territory (from friends who work for other tech companies there's plenty of it across platforms), but you can expect a lot without looking like a crazy person or a terrible human being.
All you are doing is opening new Ipads and wasting them and no doubt will be back on the market as refurbs in a few months.
Why do I have to dumb down my tolerance to your level? Why can't I decide as the consumer if I want to go through the trouble if it's Apple's policy to let me swap it out until I'm happy?
U sound like a spoiled brat that cries and whines until you have everything your way.
Fanboys like you make me laugh.

Fanboy? LOL!
Don't be mad at me because I have higher standards than you. Not to mention that I pay for my own toys. Dope!![]()
I've always wondered why people with out screen issues are the one that is more dismissive, destructive, aggressive and just out right rude. This happens to almost any screen related issue thread from any brand manufacturer. They refuse to believe that such issues exist but they also claim nothing is perfect and even spout about that only the extreme minority have such issues, if this is true then it should be almost impossible for any one person to get a problematic screen more than twice in a row.
Can anyone enlighten me why a lot of people behave like this, I've been with device that never had screen issues like others I dont 'bash' others because they were unlucky. I also dont find the need to frantically defend the product or just claim OCD.
Is it wrong to ask for a quality screen just like what the 'believed majority' are getting ?
A couple reasons come to mind:
1 - They have a financial interest (e.g., they work for Apple, or they are a seller, etc.)
2 - They need cognitive closure on their purchase decision or to justify their brand loyalty (i.e., they want to reaffirm their purchase decision or brand loyalty is correct). Denying a problem exists, and/or attacking those who report a problem, is a form of cognitive dissonance; i.e., they always make good decisions, and if someone has information contrary to their beliefs, they discard the information as false or irrelevant. People high on the need for cognitive closure generally have an associated trait of aggression. I have learned over the years to avoid those type of people as they tend never to change their mind; even when presented with verifiable facts. That's why these arguments go on and on.
