I apologize for my lack of grammar, but half of my schooling took place in the West Bank. The schools there did not really focus in English grammar. Would you please tell me what I should have said? The more I learn the better for me!

Don't you mean "the West Hand Bank" ;)

It's just something that annoys some people. Left is left no matter if you are referring to your hands or not… Just say left side/right side.

There are times when it is correct though. Sometimes you can say "left hand side" to clarify between your left and somebody else's left (telling a story to somebody, and in the story you and another person were looking at each other face on, for example).

On topic:
I cannot stand it when people try to sing along with something, but they only know ⅛ of the lyrics, so they just hum most of the song, chiming in with lyrics for like ¼ of the chorus.

My snide comment was on the presumption that you were American. :p

Funny you should say West Bank. My next pet peeve - people who don't know how good they got it.

This. Is so annoying. My sister does this ALL the time. But she usually just mumbles the rest of the song.

Example:

The Song

We, will, we will, ROCK YOU!

My Sister

Mmm, bla, bleh, ROCK YOU!

  • When Apple products like the iMac are written as "Imac"
  • When people say iTouch instead of iPod touch
  • People who say, "Yeah, but it's actually..." for the first week after daylight savings goes into effect

people who leave out "to be" in their sentences online.

'needs replaced'
'needs fixed'

etc etc, i see this ALL the time and it drives me up a wall. problem is i see it in otherwise grammatically fine posts, so i think people actually think its grammatically correct.

When somebody says they dislike something, and somebody else responds with "Have you ever made a _____? Didn't think so. Shut up."

You don't have to have experience creating something to have an opinion on it. Shut up.

People who say "an historic." It just doesn't sound right.

People who use the word "literally" at inappropriate times. I've been seeing it more and more lately for some reason. It literally pisses me off.

Read a few pages and seen some of mine, which also include:

• iTouch / Imac / IPAD
• People who chew loudly or with their mouth open.
• Tuna fish, the smell of.
• Slow drivers in the fast lane.

When callers to a radio talk show ask "How are you?" or "How's it going?" before they make their point or ask their question. It's so repetitive.

Why doesn't the producer tell them to leave out the formalities and to just make their point or ask their question right away?

:p

poor grammar.

people who drive like a**holes on the roads.

people who claim they know that a good film is and have never actually seen any of them. the same goes with reading.

You just complained about poor grammar, yet I don't see a single capital letter.

People who complain about poor grammar, but don't capitalize anything. And I am especially annoyed by sentence fragments and thoughts that are vague and barely decipherable.

I should have clarified myself. I meant used when speaking, not writing.
Plus, I could really care less about capitalizing words on teh internetz.
