Man all of those apps are TERRIBLE. Mail, use Gmail (native mail apps these days? lol), Google Calendar, Google contacts, Skype is two clicks away, and EVERYONE uses it, FaceTime is a complete joke etc...

iLife is equally awful. This is junk software. The whole "pisses on the PC" thing is absurd, completely absurd.

You were saying?

That's your opinion ... millions of satisfied users, including myself would suggest you're horribly wrong. But to each their own, buy what you like EOS.

Having been an iPhone user since the original to the iphone 4and changing to an S3 about 4 months ago both are good operating system with there pros and cons. Depends what matter more to you. If apple wants to hit it out of the park for my user esperience they simply have to open up and let me save whatever file type I want to my phone and let me share whatever file type I want with any type of app. That with the form factor, simple user interface, integration with itunes and icloud as a mac owner will pull me back over.

A refresh of ios and a little more customization options wouldn't hurt (would love to see winterboard and apps in the app store) and other cool tweaks.

They need to give more freedom and make the iphone fun again IMHO.

If they do I'll be back. Though the form factor of the new htc one definitely interests me since its kind of iphoneish.
The concept of what I phone is says that is a bad idea. They removed that feature because of the need for security. It is primarily a phone and that aspect has to be front and center. There are Apps for that like files or dropbox. But the point is that users shouldn't have to search around to figure out what apps are compatible with what. For instance Android out of the box never supported PDF, Doc, or even vCard files even though these have been supported in since the second version of iOS or sooner. The next Android version is adding support but how many years have these simple expectations been unavailable with out downloading a special application. But customization is hailed as more important than having something so simple.

This site needs to be renamed Rumors.

Seems everybody here is against Apple. So please leave . Go to some android forum .

Oh. Wait. There isn't one that has more than 10 people on it.

Unfortunately, they keep posting stories that just bring them all in. I agree on your rename.

All we have now is constant fighting (and the same arguments repeated from both sides over and over).

Blah

Yeah it brings all the haters in, it has nothing to do with getting more visitors to the site thus creating more revenue and advertisement, nothing at all to do with that I'm sure
kaching kaching....

Htc just came out or delayed till end of march. It should compare with next iPhone. Google now is rumored for iOS yet only 16% of android has it. iOS is the center of best apps from Google, amazon, etc thus best experience!!

I'm pretty sure you're just spewing your opinion and not fact.

I wasn't aware that "google now" was the arbiter of good/bad experience on a phone.

Is that a serious question? would u rather be using iOS 1 vs 6?

I was trying to make a point that you're sounding like the typical customer that says, "Oh that model has more bells and whistles so it must be better". Just because you buy something with great and useful features and the competition recognizes it and then tries to one up by adding features that aren't even ready for primetime (NFC ) doesn't mean the company who's phone you own is outdated and useless. That's the way you sounded.

no i thought it was a MAC forum so i dont think it needs a name change

As time goes by, simply being "not broken" is becoming "not enough"
My phone can convert into 750,000,000 possibilities many of which do things Android can't even dream of. So, not being broken is more than enough, because changing for the sake of changing means that I would be limited to the gimmick like Android uses to draw people and thats just not enough for me. Screen size is another one. I wonder why the iPhone is still the most stolen item in New York instead of the latest Samsung whatever it's called? Crooks steal what is in demand. If screen size was the answer they should be stealing them left and right. Its not like they don't see it from across the room.

It's MAC rumors but there are more visitors on iPhone forums than Mac forums. Real Android users hardly go to other Android forums. They all come here to troll.

Is he really THAT worried about the new Samsung S4 that the night before the announcement he decides to go on the offensive against Android and Samsung? Really, someone should remind him he WORKS FOR APPLE and have some pride in his products and sell his products on the merits they have and not attack the competition like this and the tweet he made last week.

These past actions stink of fear. It would be far better to market your own products and not accack the competition.

Even if some of his words are true, it still smells of fear for reasons I cannot imagine unless Apple really is worried about hitting its numbers this quarter, unless iOS7 is not what everyone is expecting, unless the iPhone 5s is not what everyone is expecting. Something is up...time will tell.

Being an old timer, I have literally seen this same argument played out over and over again. Apple vs. Atari. Atari vs. Commodore. Apple vs. Commodore. IBM vs. Apple. Atari vs. Intellivision. Intellivision vs. Colecovision. Atari ST vs. Amiga. Mac vs. Windows. OS/2 vs. DOS. Newton vs. Palm. Palm vs. Windows CE.

Regardless of the combatants the arguments are pointless. If you like your IOS device keep using it. If you like Android go enjoy it.

I'm not a huge fan of how Google copied IOS, but I'm not in any position to stop it and if people are comfortable using it I am not going to complain about that either.

Reading these forums lately is like watching FOX News. Bunch of complaining and finger pointing. Grow up.

Honestly, what are you basing this statement on? I am sincerely curious, because there are a couple Android forums that get plenty of traffic. Which ones, exactly, are you polling?

This is why I can't stand Google android sheep.
Good news: sheep don't buy phones.

That is, assuming you were older than 12 and weren't resorting to simple name-calling. Because, of course, that would be beneath the members of this forum. ;)

What 'features' does android have that you don't? Here's one that you have that Android doesn't. BACKUP and RESTORE! I call that a BIG one!

All your contacts, email and calander are backed up automatically to your Google Account. You can backup files using Google Drive. Please try using Android before just lying.

Sounds like you like giving 100% of your money to Korea.
I don't know exact numbers, but with Samsung's expansion of their plant in TX it may be that they now have more manufacturing jobs in the US than Apple.

Either way, does it really matter if your money's going to Korea or to China?

At least Korea isn't engaged in cyberwar with the US.

Why would an Android user join this forum if they had no Apple products?

I've had a string of Macs, and have a few iOS devices. I now use an Android phone by preference, because it's better.

Maybe the increasing number of Android users here is just an indication that Apple need to wake up and compete better in the phone/iOS space?

What makes you think Google copied Android? Did Apple invent Unix/Linux as the basis for iOS? Did Apple invent the first icon based OS? Seems Apple is hardly able to claim being completely original.

You people are hard to figure out!

The usual stuff. And I agree.

Although its hard not to feel as if I'm sitting by watching as these new android phones keep adding more and more features which I don't have. But his comments about "seamlessness" are true.

I have been an Apple user on and off for years. First, I am not a "takes sides" person. I am an admitted technology junkie. I do like having the latest and best technology on my devices no matter who makes them. I had the first two iPhones which were great except that Apple decided it was worth giving the customer (That would be you and I) the poorest phone reception quality (User experience) at the time by getting AT&T to pay them boatloads of money in exchange for exclusive rights. When it became apparent that Apple instead of innovating every year would use the same phones over and over again, instead of going with advances available, I switched on phones. Now if you're one of those crazy apple people defending all Apple tells you and does (read, we keep the phone small cause of your thumb not reaching) You need to know once and for all, that was and still is marketing BS! If you know anything about manufacturing you would know that again, Apple accepted offering the same old stuff with a market twist and made billions by not having to change the manufacturing parts, molds etc. Its a smart business move. Think Cheerios with "New & Improved" on the box every year or so. Now I own a phone that has 3 times the battery life, a screen i can read, Google voice that makes Siri look like the toy it is, Maps, oh yea, Apple CEO Tim Cook recently apologized to all of you with the new iPhone for the poor "user experience" and told people to use someone else's maps. I could go on about the IOS "user experience" that dates back to 2007, I won't. I could tell you I hate that my phone tells me when to leave for my next appointment, or to catch my flight, based on the current traffic conditions automatically, but I wont. The user experience I enjoy having several chargers on hand from old or family member phones from different brands is pretty cool. With all that said I do use a Macbook Retina 13" because for my heavy travel it is a dream. Unfortunately I have to run Parallels so I can keep track of my files better (You can beat me up on that one as after two years since my switch to MacBooks and several attempts to go all OSX, I cant, its a mess to me and me alone) Phil cant create the same fuzzy logic like Jobs could. Its wearing off and his stupid comments about the user experience bear that out.

Yes and thats why your getting your ass kicked by Android.

I have owned the S3, Nexus 4 and the Note 2 and i can tell you fragmentation hasnt hurt my experience one bit.

PC's are fragmented to hell and they dont suffer. In fact OSX cant perform a single benchmark better than PC in any games.

Dont tell consumers its for their benefit you make the hardware and software. Its for your profit only

I'm curious to know why you have already owned 3 relatively recently released phones and say that you are satisfied? I've had two phones since June of 2008: an iPhone 3G (not 3Gs), which is still feeding music to my car, and my iPhone 4 (not 4s). I've never thought that I was being cheated or that my experience was subpar. I've always felt that they have been cohesive and had been built with the best technologies, tolerances, manufacturing processes and software they could work with that was feasible at the time.

I love how you dodged the rest of it, and picked the only "kind of" weak spot.

Sure, not everyone ships a CD now, you have to download it or rely on Windows generic drivers. What about something I bought a few years ago I would like to use again? I've just re-installed my OS, oops, Windows can't find a driver. Plug it into my iMac: boom, it works. NEVER had an issue driver installation on my Mac. PC: countless.

I wasn't dodging anything. To call it only kind of weak suggests your last experience was a number of years ago. With the iLife apps, I have them, but I have never bothered comparing to PC equivalents or looking at what is out there, which is why I didn't address it. My initial experiences with iCloud weren't that great. I haven't tried it since, which is why I didn't respond to that point. It wasn't an issue of bias like you suggest. Even now you're being ambiguous as to the nature of your problems and the machine that had them. If it was from an oem, the downloads should be relatively seamless. If by chance this was a do it yourself machine, support is on your end and the two aren't really comparable. You didn't provide a lot of information. All you said was PC.
