I'm with Doylem, very atmospheric! Nice shot.

Nice job, Keleko! Love his expression and the DOF. I wish you had a little more light/less shadow on his face, which would make it perfect.

Mine for today:
Spring is really coming! My Star Magnolia is getting ready to bloom:

Snowbird will hit 700" tonight for the ski season, currently at 698" and snowing, so I thought I could celebrate a little.

Taken earlier in the year, the sun was just right on that one lift ride up but another good shot was in the next ride, that one for another day.

Alta is already past 700". I thought my second year in Jackson getting over 600" was epic. Wait... it was. the sickest winter I have ever had, working for TGR and getting maybe 80 days in. Aghh, memories!

Ya I like Alta and all but Snowbird has always been my favorite. Alta has closed though, they will reopen this weekend for the last time. Snowbird will do weekends through the next two week, haven't yet announced but probably one last day on July 4.

That was the problem with Jackson. Only open 1st week of December to 1st week of April due to being on government land. But we had so much good hiking we were finding corn until June/July that year via shuttling, very little hiking.

Atmospheric and beautifully lit... but that little bit of tree-trunk, bottom right, is a bit distracting...

Many thanks, guys! Doylem, thanks for pointing out the tree trunk ... I cropped it slightly, so it now looks like this - a definite improvement.

Here's today's, from the same day, in the same area of Killiney, in Dublin.

That is my regret, too. But, the light was directly above, so there was just going to be a shadow. I lack a flash other than the popup, so I avoid using flash most of the time.

I've finally gotten around to uploading my recent film scans from class. I'm really happy with how all them them came up, but here's one of my favourites.

Virtual Rain: I like it! This looks like the setting for a romance novel! I'm wondering how it would look if it were cropped in more from the left, and possibly from the bottom?

Turquoise and rose Grecian vase? ... here's one of my favourites.

emorydunn: Mine, too! Love the lighting and the colors. Nice job!

It's not a vase, it's completely white a fountain. The different colours are two different light sources. The turquoise is the reflection from the water below and the red is the street lamps and light from the sky.

I love the black and white version of this, although the colour version has a nice soft light that gives it an antique and almost timeless feel. I would love to see what a black and white version that keeps the same soft light would look like.
